1st Visit: I had an absolutely incredible Saturday evening at one of Brisbane’s newest steak joints! The atmosphere was absolutely stunning, setting the stage for a night to remember. But let me tell you, the steak stole the spotlight! I haven’t tasted a steak this phenomenal in ages! The way it was expertly seared and cooked to perfection was a true testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs. A huge shoutout to Head Chef Felipe De Souza for leading the kitchen and delivering such an extraordinary dining experience. However, it wasn’t just the food that made the evening extraordinary. The staff, especially Tony, were unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Their warm smiles and attentive service made us feel right at home. Thank you, Tony, for going above and beyond to ensure our evening was absolutely incredible. As we sat there, savouring our delectable meal, we couldn’t help but notice the energy in the kitchen. The chefs’ passion and dedication were palpable as they flawlessly prepared each steak order. The restaurant also presents two delightful Banquets available for both lunch and dinner. Indulge in a feast fit for royalty, carefully curated to showcase the finest flavours their kitchen has to offer. And for those looking for an extra boost of energy, their Power Banquet is available from 11am to 6pm, with the option to add an Hour of Power to your meal. Finally, no meal is complete without a sweet ending. Rich and Rare’s menu boasts a tempting variety of scrumptious desserts that will leave you craving for more. Indulge in the perfect finale to your dining experience and satisfy your sweet tooth with our delectable treats. The entire experience was so relaxing and enjoyable as we laughed and relished every single bite. Delicious food, wonderful company, and the delight of being surrounded by a warm and inviting ambience. 2nd Visit: On my second visit to Rich and Rare, I decided to bring along some friends. We were all excited to try the $50 Power Lunch, which included an extra $25 for the Power Hour - an entire hour dedicated to enjoying drinks. The Power Hour menu offered a variety of wines, beers, and sparkling options to choose from. Arriving early, we were directed to the bar area where we indulged in pre-lunch cocktails, wine, and beer from the extensive drink list at Rich and Rare. They had an impressive selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, we had to wait for our table as the previous patrons occupying it exceeded their two-hour seating time. It was not the restaurant's fault, but rather the inconsiderate behaviour of those individuals. The staff at Rich and Rare were incredibly apologetic and, to make it up to us, they graciously led us to their private room. We were sincerely grateful for their understanding and hospitality. The Power Lunch itself was a delightful nine-course set menu, offering exceptional value and an array of fantastic choices. The addition of the Power Hour drinks made the experience even more enjoyable. To enhance our lunch, we decided to include an extra entree of succulent King Prawns. It was just as delicious as the rest of the courses, further enhancing our dining experience. Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to the attentive staff at Rich and Rare for their exceptional service throughout our visit.

Hands down the best meal we savoured in Brisbane. 9-course Power Banquet for only 50 AUD per person. #WorthIt We appreciate good portions with equally amazing quality of ingredients, recipes, flavours and service. Everything was on point 💯. For sure, we will be back for more. Here’s what included in the course meal: 1. Artisan Sourdough - Freshly baked, toasty, fluffy with the right level of crackly bite. Perfect when dipped in the extra virgin olive oil & balsamic vinegar. 2. Jamon Iberico - The perfect level of saltiness and waxy texture of the cured meat. In love with each bite. 3. Oyster Mignonette - Fresh af creamy succulent oysters that goes well with the tangy champagne vinaigrette. 4. Seared Scallops - I was ecstatic when I saw this, just look at the sear on these scallops. Savoury goodness paired well with crispy kale, caramelised cauliflower purée & jamon crumb. 5. Barramundi - Skin seared till crispy with flakey tender flesh. A myriad of flavours and texture from the poppy tobiko, miso butter and palate cleanser (pickled kohirabi). 6. Sirloin Steak - They cooked it perfectly (medium rare) as requested. Juicy, tender, flavourful. The cut has a good balance of meat and tendon. Oh and that mushroom sauce was glorioussssss! 7. Iceberg Lettuce - 🤨 (my face when I saw it) // 🫨 (my face when I tried it) - how can each layer of lettuce be so well coated and flavourful!? Fresh, crisp, seasoned with lemon and topped with shaved Parmesan. A good addition to balance out the rich flavours. I… would attempt this at home. #inspired 8. Shoestring Fries - You can’t go wrong with fries. Sprinkled with rosemary salt and a side of aioli. 9. Dessert (Chef’s choice of the day) - for us, we’ve gotten a super chocolatey one. I would say it’s extremely decadent and a lil’ too sweet for me. The chocolate dome should be made thinner for the hot chocolate to melt thoroughly. Maybe then… the flavours will be more balanced. An unfortunate miss on the dessert for my tastebuds. The course meal is only available from 11am-6pm (with a minimum number of 2 pax). It's now 4 AM, and my partner's stomach hurts so much that he can't sleep at all. I had to get up to find stomach medicine for him. Before this, we just thought the seafood platter was not tasty and not very fresh, but we didn't think it was necessary to point it out here. However, the current situation makes me think that the seafood was extremely, extremely not fresh, and there might even be hygiene issues (I don't feel well either—I don't have a stomachache, but I feel nauseous and want to vomit). We both believe the problem lies with the seafood platter. The salmon roe looked shriveled and not very fresh, the kingfish had a strange slimy texture, and the salmon had an odd, unpalatable taste—we barely ate any of the latter. Considering this dish costs over 80, I now feel extremely angry. As for the other dishes, the crab pasta was so salty that I couldn't understand it at all and couldn't eat it—we shared this dish and left at least half of it. —— The 2-star rating is for the steak and the bone marrow mashed potatoes. If I were only reviewing these two items, I would give a five-star rating without hesitation. Before my partner's severe stomachache, we were even planning to visit the restaurant again, having decided to order just the steak and mashed potatoes next time. The quality of the meat and the cooking were perfect, and the accompanying sauce was spot on. The bone marrow mashed potatoes were a perfect match, leaving us in awe! Additionally, the waiter was very nice, and the recommended wine was excellent. Overall, this restaurant has some great aspects, but I hope no one else has to experience stomach pain so severe they can't sleep at night. If the situation remains bad in the morning, we will consider going to the emergency and contact the restaurant.

My family and I have been anticipating this visit for a while as we have heard many great things from this restaurant 😁. But there were notable concerns that I feel needed to be addressed which made us feel a bit disappointed. While the 600g dry aged sirloin was beautiful and star of the night , it would have benefited with a bit more seasoning. Regrettably, the flat iron steak was a notable disappointment. It emitted an unsettling odor, suggesting it may have been past its prime or was not fresh? . This aroma persisted through the meal, my family member insisted to not let one of the staffs know as we didn’t want to cause trouble again (we were served the wrong steak before receiving the right one which was the flat iron). This meat had a terrible smell to it. Additionally, the truffle mushroom pasta dish was also lacking a bit of flavour. Furthermore, the oysters presented a faint fishy smell, which detracted from their appeal. Overall the restaurant is beautiful, desserts wonderful, delicious and the staffs are lovely and attentive, which contributed positively to the evening. Despite some of the dishes, considering the pricing, I couldn't help but feel a disconnect between value and experience. I offer this feedback constructively, with the hope of contributing to your ongoing commitment to excellence.

We had a pleasant lunch at Rich and Rare on Saturday afternoon. From the truffle menu, we ordered the Potato Terrine and the Truffle Arancini. From the main menu, we chose the bread with bone marrow butter, the beef tart, and the Barramundi from the lunch specials. We also enjoyed two cocktails: Wild Wild West and Cheesus Christ. To finish off we ordered the Chocolate dessert with choc meringue crackers which was devine. While the overall experience was delightful, there were a few hiccups. The Barramundi, though flavorful, was unfortunately overcooked. Due to our tight schedule, we didn’t make a fuss but mentioned it to our waiter, who said he would inform the chef. This response was a bit underwhelming. When we requested our bill, a gentleman named Tibet came over and asked about our meal. Upon mentioning the overcooked Barramundi, Tibet's response was exemplary. He runs the bar and is an outstanding mixologist, creating wonderful cocktails. The Cheesus Christ cocktail, in particular, is a must-try. Tibet’s excellent service turned our experience around, making us eager to return and try more items from the (cocktail) menu. Tibet, you are an absolute asset to Rich and Rare.

Friends had told my wife & me about Rich & Rare's $50 per person Power Banquet, featuring nine courses, so being very familiar with many of the Tassis Group's other restaurants, we booked lunch at Rich & Rare on Friday, October 27th, and not even midway through, we were very glad we had done so. Service was fantastic...attentive, informative, and helpful, without being intrusive in any way. The nine courses are as follows: Artisan Sourdough - Bone marrow butter Wagyu Bresaola - EVOO Oyster Mignonette - Champagne vinaigrette Seared Scallop - Caramelised cauliflower purée, jamón crumb Market Fish - Smoked salmon roe, miso butter, pickled kohlrabi Sirloin Steak - Mushroom sauce Iceberg Lettuce - Lemon, shaved parmesan Shoestring Fries - Rosemary salt, aioli Dessert - Chef’s choice of the day The food was exceptional, "fresh as", and obviously of very high quality. Thanks to Shad and every other team member who served Margaret & me so very well! We agreed the Power Banquet offers absolutely the best "value for money" dining in Brisbane, and were so impressed we're going for lunch at Rich & Rare again, this time with the friends who first told us about the Power Banquet.
