1st Visit:
I had an absolutely incredible Saturday evening at one of Brisbane’s newest steak joints! The atmosphere was absolutely stunning, setting the stage for a night to remember. But let me tell you, the steak stole the spotlight!
I haven’t tasted a steak this phenomenal in ages! The way it was expertly seared and cooked to perfection was a true testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs. A huge shoutout to Head Chef Felipe De Souza for leading the kitchen and delivering such an extraordinary dining experience.
However, it wasn’t just the food that made the evening extraordinary. The staff, especially Tony, were unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Their warm smiles and attentive service made us feel right at home. Thank you, Tony, for going above and beyond to ensure our evening was absolutely incredible.
As we sat there, savouring our delectable meal, we couldn’t help but notice the energy in the kitchen. The chefs’ passion and dedication were palpable as they flawlessly prepared each steak order.
The restaurant also presents two delightful Banquets available for both lunch and dinner. Indulge in a feast fit for royalty, carefully curated to showcase the finest flavours their kitchen has to offer. And for those looking for an extra boost of energy, their Power Banquet is available from 11am to 6pm, with the option to add an Hour of Power to your meal.
Finally, no meal is complete without a sweet ending. Rich and Rare’s menu boasts a tempting variety of scrumptious desserts that will leave you craving for more. Indulge in the perfect finale to your dining experience and satisfy your sweet tooth with our delectable treats.
The entire experience was so relaxing and enjoyable as we laughed and relished every single bite. Delicious food, wonderful company, and the delight of being surrounded by a warm and inviting ambience.
2nd Visit:
On my second visit to Rich and Rare, I decided to bring along some friends. We were all excited to try the $50 Power Lunch, which included an extra $25 for the Power Hour - an entire hour dedicated to enjoying drinks. The Power Hour menu offered a variety of wines, beers, and sparkling options to choose from.
Arriving early, we were directed to the bar area where we indulged in pre-lunch cocktails, wine, and beer from the extensive drink list at Rich and Rare. They had an impressive selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Unfortunately, we had to wait for our table as the previous patrons occupying it exceeded their two-hour seating time. It was not the restaurant's fault, but rather the inconsiderate behaviour of those individuals. The staff at Rich and Rare were incredibly apologetic and, to make it up to us, they graciously led us to their private room. We were sincerely grateful for their understanding and hospitality.
The Power Lunch itself was a delightful nine-course set menu, offering exceptional value and an array of fantastic choices. The addition of the Power Hour drinks made the experience even more enjoyable.
To enhance our lunch, we decided to include an extra entree of succulent King Prawns. It was just as delicious as the rest of the courses, further enhancing our dining experience.
Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to the attentive staff at Rich and Rare for their exceptional service...
Read moreHoly heck this place was bangGING. Booked a table for my partners birthday and even the booking process online was smooth and quick. We arrived 15 minutes early and actually managed to be given a table with no wait, even though it was already pretty packed. We decided to go with the Drovers Delight Banquet and by golly we’re glad we did. Personally I’m a big fan of good table water and being offered still, sparkling or tap is ideal, especially when the water we got was really good (would’ve appreciated keeping the bottle on the table though). starting off with drinks (incredible) before the bread and bone marrow butter were brought out in record time; both gorgeous, perfect temperature, amount, everything was ideal. The drinks were some of our favourite drinks we’ve ever had, the After the bread was finished, the little plates were out, including the jamon Iberico (perfect amount and seasoning), the wagyu tataki was flawless and the wagyu bites were also flawless, just wish there were more of everything! The main had a little wait but more than understandable after seeing the size of it. The 600g sirloin with chimichurri sauce was insane, so tender, perfectly cooked, plenty to share between 2 people. Personally I think the end pieces were a little too fatty/crispy to include but when you pay that much, I understand including the entire thing. The only thing I wasn’t an instant lifelong fan of was the iceberg lettuce, it was delicious but the texture got me. It was too wet and sloppy and all the cheese was on one piece and you couldn’t take it off because it was so wet. The fries were perfectly seasoned with a solid sharing amount and the perfect temperature with a generous serving of aoli, which was just garlic-y enough, delicious. The coconut panna cotta was gorgeous. So silky, sweet, just the right amount of tartness and crunch. Perfect to share after the size of the rest of the meal. I ordered a second cocktail and surprise, surprise.. incredible. I can’t find the drink menu online and don’t remember the names. The atmosphere of the place was fantastic, fancy as hell but casual enough to feel comfortable without wearing a tuxedo. The ‘outside’ seating area was so comfortable and easy to forget you were outside due to the roof and built in heating with just a nice amount of breeze, even the music was a perfect selection and the ideal volume. I saw a lot of cakes and sparklers and happy birthday’s written in icing and wouldn’t have why we didn’t receive that or an offer to, just a little happy birthday written on a card when we sat down but that card was taken away with the menus? Either way, amazing experience, amazing value, lovely atmosphere and will be...
Read moreCelebrated my husband birthday last night at Rich & Rare. We were both blown away by the amazing food and their top notch service.
We started with their sourdough ciabatta with bone marrow butter, which was heaven and left us wanting for more. First time having the bone marrow butter, which was rich and creamy and went really well with the bread. I got their woodfired octopus as entree, which was a fantastic choice. The octopus was grilled to perfection and really easy to cut through. It was a chunky piece as well, but was drenched in flavors. I really loved the seasoning, but couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It was rather yummy and inviting. Not too long after we finished with our entree, our mains followed. As shown in the photos, we had their 300g sirloin with deep fried green beans and crab pasta. I’m not a big steak eater, but I did think the sirloin was really nice. As for the pasta, it was probably one of my favorite. Really loved the flavor of the dish and especially loved the texture of the noodles, which got a bit of resistance when biting down on them, but not so much that you couldn’t break them easily with your teeth. I also loved the fact that they were generous with the crab, which I thought was another highlight of the dish. All the dishes we ordered were equally fabulous, not only easy on the eye, but also so perfectly executed flavor wise.
Drink wise, my husband had a glass of their Blonde Crow, while I had one of their Prairie Fire and one Dean Man’s Hand. Out of the two, I was much a bigger fan of the latter, solely because it was so dreamy and sweet and easy on my taste buds. It got all the sweet and good stuff in it, like salted caramel. But it is not to say the other one didn’t live up to my likings. It was punchy and sitting more on the acidic side. Couldn’t feel the booze initially, but it crept up on me and hit me eventually in a subtle way.
In the very end, my husband had their surprise birthday “cake”, a scoop of the vanilla ice cream garnished with chocolate. We were asked if we wanted to order dessert and we both decided it was a good idea not to have any as we were already full at the point. But it was really really nice gesture of Rich & Rare for the ice cream. It was really lovey and def hit the spot.
Also want to shout out to the staff member who served us last night, sorry that neither of us remembers your name. But thank you for making sure we had a wonderful night. It was really appreciated that you gave us so detailed descriptions and explanation on the food and drinks. It was an absolutely terrific recommendation on the Dead Man’s Hand.
Again, thank you Rich & Rare for the...
