Overview: The Boundary is an old established pub located on Boundary Rd in the heart of the West End dining and entertainment precinct. It is part of the Australian Venue Co group, which offers a rewards program called "The Pass" that allows you to earn points and convert them into dining vouchers. Food: My wife and I visited on a quiet Tuesday night when all pizzas were priced at $15. We ordered the Quattro Formaggi with extra anchovies and mushrooms, and the Fresca pizza with salami and fresh rocket. Both pizzas had simple arrangements with limited toppings, which actually enhanced their flavours. They were fresh, tasty, and had crispy bases. We also ordered a garden salad for $8, which was a refreshing start to the meal with a tangy lemon dressing. Overall, we enjoyed our meals. Service: The service at The Boundary was exceptional. The staff were fast, friendly, and efficient. We used the app for ordering, although it was a bit challenging to make modifications to our order. Despite that, our drinks and food arrived quickly and in the correct order, with no delays. The staff served us with a friendly smile, and we couldn't have asked for better service. Atmosphere: The venue offers multiple dining areas, including a rooftop beer garden that would be pleasant in summer but chilly in winter. We chose to sit downstairs in the narrow outside area of the pizzeria, which had a relaxed and laid-back ambience. The acoustics were good, making it easy to have conversations. However, it was a bit cold despite the heaters placed on the walls. The decor had an interesting industrial style with high brick walls, stone floors, and steel furniture. The seating was comfortable, and the table was spacious enough to accommodate our drinks and dishes. The only downside was the poor lighting, which made it difficult to read the paper menu without a phone torch. Cost: While drink prices were steep, we found the Tuesday "Pizza Night" to be good value for money. Our total bill for two drinks, two pizzas (one with extra toppings), and a salad came to $72. Considering the current hyperinflationary economic climate, we appreciated the affordability of the deal. Toilets: The venue had ample clean toilets available both in the pizzeria downstairs and in the rooftop beer garden. They were clean and well-maintained. Parking: Finding parking in the area proved to be a bit challenging. Most street parking is restricted to two hours before 7pm, which can be inconvenient. We eventually found a space in the nearby "Soda Factory" car park, where we could enjoy two hours of free parking. Summary: Our overall experience at The Boundary was pleasant. The booking process was simple, and our table was ready upon arrival. The staff were super friendly and polite. The ambience was relaxed and casual, and the Tuesday night pizza deal offered good value for money. While the drink prices were high, the "Pass" membership rewards program can help offset some of the costs. The venue had ample clean toilets, but parking in the area can be a challenge. Memo: At the bottom of the hotel's website, there is an "acknowledgement to country" statement along with flags representing Aboriginal and Torres Island, and the rainbow "pride" flag. However, the Australian national flag and the state flag of Queensland were missing, which seemed odd.

We came on a Saturday for lunch and originally sat out the front where we had some food and drinks. The menu looks interesting but when the food came out the tastes are just all wrong and quite small in size. We tried the chicken and Brie croquettes, which just tasted odd, fried baby squid, pork belly twisties which were okay, but strange flavours again, even the chips were average. We then went upstairs for drinks and it had a great vibe so stayed for a little longer. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t have a bad time, it was the food that was the let down, sometimes keeping it simple is better. There was also a number of beggars asking for money when we sat out the front which is probably a sign of the area so to avoid I would sit inside or on the roof top.

To say we are disappointed is truly an understatement. We booked the day before the AFL grand final to watch the game. Attached below are the photos confirming our booking in ‘front of a large plasma screen’. Perfect, or so we thought. Only to show up, and be left waiting without a clue on what was happening only to be told ‘the best they could do’ was to put us in the alleyway with NO view of the TV. The staff was incredibly unhelpful and made no effort to rectify their error. Hugely disappointing after spending a significant amount of money on Ubers to attend the venue. Absolutely will not be returning to this venue. Disappointed with the lack of professional conduct by staff and lack of courtesy to loyal customers who’ve booked the venue and shown up on time.

So happy they restored The Boundary Hotel, it’s old world character and charm certainly brings this old girl to life. I can highly recommend trying it out, it will give you a taste of our West End vibe. There are so many great spots to hang out, so do check out all areas as they are completely different. One of my favourite spots is the cafe in the side alley way on the ground floor, the staff are very helpful & professional. You order and pay at the window. It’s a very comfortable and relaxed spot to sit and enjoy a quick coffee, smoothie or have a bite to eat. Their seating area is very inviting, with 2 large hanging cane seats if you fancy trying them out.

So overall my experience wasn’t bad! The place itself is nice enough and the staff were super on the ball and really respectful. There is not really much in the way of knowing where to go to eat with kids, and the price is a little on the higher side. The food presentation was beautiful and the sweet potato wedges were actually the best. I hate that the dining is only high tables and high seating, and with kids this is really hard to navigate. I got the swordfish which wasn’t too bad at all, I wish there was a little more bernaise sauce but for what it was it was quite nice! The vibe is definitely more of a like mid-late 20s vibe, but isn’t uncomfortable either.

Great food, coffee and atmosphere. Quick and friendly service, adorable food and drinks. Highly recommended. Plenty of seating, perfect for groups. $15 express lunches are great value, includes a meal and drink. Falafel wrap with chips is vegan and is fresh, delicious and slightly creamy. Soy iced coffee was $4.50 and is on the creamier side, not too strong or watery. Downstairs is filled with greenery, very cool with air conditioning. Upstairs area is full of light. They have fans which spray water, great place to sit in the summer time. Would work here during the day as there are large benches to spread out and work. Music isn’t too loud.
