Ichiban Sushi West Village — Restaurant in Brisbane City

Went about half an hour before close. Was informed that it was only conveyor belt sushi and that the kitchen was closed, which was understandable and fair.

All that was left were the sushi that most people find unappetising. Mostly vegetarian and seafood options. I had a tuna cucumber roll which was fine and then everything after that was inedible and made me almost throw it up into a napkin. One being a uncomfortably sweet battered vegetable sushi with mustard drizzle. The rice itself was very gluggy and thick.

The staff while polite, would not serve any drinks of any kind including bottled water, soft drink and iced tea. Didn't expect glasses or ice or anything, just the bottle itself but they refused, which I found very odd even as a hospitality worker myself.

Very glad I had previously steered clear of this place when asked by friends, good places to eat in West End.

Better off going a couple minutes walk down the road to Okuman which has a smaller menu but much nice quality for a...

Horrible service and communication. The food was overcooked and didn’t taste good. The chicken katsu we order was really rubbery and difficult to chew and when we told the server she didn’t speak English. It was such a difficult situation. Furthermore, they can’t even get take away orders correct. The Korean servers said in Korean ‘I do my know what nonsense she’s talking about’ when we were trying to explain that they didn’t get the order right. We ordered a take away meal, it got added to our bill but they didn’t even count the food we ordered correctly so they didn’t end up making the take away food. We then had to pay another sum for the take away food after a horrible explanation from the servers. Another point is that the tables and bowls all had cracks in them, a possible danger hazard. This is my 3rd visit, it was terrible🤢🤢🤢. First two visit was around a year ago , during their soft opening, wasn’t bad, nothing outstanding but is okay, you get what you pay. But this time sushi wasn’t fresh and rice was so dry, feels like overnight rice or even longer… the hygiene was not good. Looks like there’s a layer of “I don’t know what is it “ “don’t want to know what is it on the plate” can see pictures and videos I uploaded. Won’t come off if I touch it with my fingers🤮🤮🤮. Hope I won’t have any stomach problems later today or soon. The sit was dirty as well, quite a lot of crumbs on it. All sushi is $4.6 per plate, not expensive but does NOT worth the price at all.
