Um.. felt like I was in an episode of Faulty Towers. Waited at sign that said "wait here to be seated" as staff walked pass me numerous times and smiled. Until I walk upto counter and asked for a table. Note whilst waiting patrons at outside tables kept coming in and asking for their meals, that should have been first sign. Most of the tables hadn't be clear from previous dinners and I was pointed to a table loaded with leftover dishes ect. Saw a table at back of dinner area that was clear and asked if I could have that one. Ordered a starter of steamed dim sims and main of recommended sweet & sour pork & plain rice.
Counter staff were constantly yelling at kitchen staff across restaurant and back and forth. Zero customer experience with that happening.
Sweet & Sour Pork was brought out first and asked server where's dim sims and reply was "well just bring them out next" + no rice.
Asked that main be taken back and starter brought out. Was challenge as to why I just couldn't have it all brought out at once. Eventually server took dish away.
Waited another 20 mins for steamed dim sims to be served (just frozen packed crap).
Finished only 2 of the 4 and asked for main to be served.
S&S Pork came out, think it was what was earlier served and just reheated in microwave. Had to ask for plate to eat it from.
Totally disappointed, deep fried battered pork with some tin pineapple and some capsicum and tasted like jar sauce.
Could only eat a few pieces and usually always togo the leftovers, but not this time.
Plus the fumes from the kitchen into the dinning area become overwhelming, my cloths smell like I've was a kitchen hand tonight.
I won't say avoid, but just be prepared for an average experience. Then again the prices charged don't match the food quality.

Read moreTaste of China is a small, cosy restaurant with an extensive and reasonably priced menu. While some dishes were exceptional, the experience was significantly marred by inconsistent food and poor service.
The Standouts: TheBeef with Green Chilli and Coriander was an absolute 10/10. It was perfectly spicy, allowing the flavour of the beef to shine through. The Honey Chicken also surprised me; the chicken was crispy, juicy, and far exceeded my expectations.
The Misses: TheMapo Tofu was a major disappointment. This classic dish was surprisingly sweet, lacking the savoury, spicy, and numbing profile it's known for. The Pork Belly and Pickled Vegetables Soup was overwhelmingly sour. While the pork itself was tender and the vegetables were okay, the intense sourness will not be for everyone.
A Note on Service: Unfortunately, the service was very poor. It was extremely difficult to get anyone's attention to order, even with direct eye contact and waving. The staff seemed indifferent to the diners, showing a clear lack of care for the customer experience.
Verdict: A restaurant of highs and lows. You can find truly delicious dishes here, but ordering is a gamble. Be prepared for potential disappointments and...
Read moreTried this place out last week since we were craving some light and tasty vegetarian dishes. Dined on a Friday so we were kind of expecting heaps of people but luckily, there was just a handful of customers that evening. The interior was nice and classy but a tad stuffy since it's one of the open kitchen types. The staff were prompt and accommodating which was great. The menu had a wide selection of reasonably priced dishes (a lot of great veg options). We ordered the stir fried seafood noodles and the eggplant with sweet spicy garlic sauce. The noodle dish was ok, nothing to write home about but the eggplant was sensational and not the usual as it came in a nice crispy batter with such a tasty sauce! Only downside to the whole experience was that the food did take quite a while to arrive despite being few diners (we assumed there were a lot of online and takeaway orders). Overall, it was pleasant (definitely coming back for...
