This is for the owner only I could not find any way to make a complaint about how a situation was handled without just calling the store and speaking to the people who were involved and already know the situation. I go to cheeky bean a lot and intend to continue however had a terrible experience this morning. There was a coffee mixup this morning - I ordered a soy iced latte for Alice (I said my name and it was misheard so I just said sure I’ll respond to that). I stood out front and they called what sounded like “soy iced latte for Alicia” and I went well that sounds like me and my order so I collected it and had a sip - it tasted sweet so I asked if it had a sugar and was informed it contained an equal which I am extremely allergic to. I said “that’s horrible news actually I’m very allergic to that can I please have some water I have to go flush my stomach in the bathroom” I came back after doing so and my throat had closed up and I was trying to not have a panic attack, called my partner to come pick me up and they gave me my remade coffee. As I was waiting out front people kept asking if I was okay and I couldn’t respond properly so I decided to wait inside facing the wall to try to not draw attention and the staff were very unempathetic. I was told “you took the wrong coffee that one was for Theresa” which I understand mixups happen with similar names and orders. However when I owned my cafe if something like this had happened I would have offered them somewhere to sit, to call someone, a refund, some more water or anything at all. The attitude was very much more “you’re ruining the vibe please leave”. One staff member did ask if I had antihistamines and I think maybe they didn’t understand the severity of my allergy but I think that it was just handled so poorly. I do still enjoy cheeky bean coffee and intend to come back but this was a horrible experience and some compassion would have gone a long way. I also would recommend having a way to contact someone other than just reviews because I don’t want to leave a negative review I just wanted to inform the owner and maybe make a change in how the next person is treated. Was immediately served with a nice smile however, I noticed that the barista hasn't made a new/fresh shot, instead she put into my cup a shot that was there for who knows how long. While she was steaming the milk I asked her how fresh that shot was and I was given the answer : "it s actually very fresh, it has been there for about two minutes". I am a barista myself and I was very disappointed with the answer I got, especially cause I was the only customer in store at the momemt so would definitely expect to have a better quality espresso shot if not busy. The other Cheeky Bean is about a kilometre away, and I know they don’t have ceramic. Perhaps you are cross posting to the wrong site? Terribly wasteful to have only paper cups for a sit down situation.
