This place is a hidden gem. I have ordered the Turkish bread sandwiches which were amazing, and had my favourite sauce in them, and also the chips with gravy which were delicious, and a lifesaver after a long tiring day. I think the variety that they offer is fantastic, with ready meals that change each day, as well as sandwiches and snacks, and desserts and drinks.

A great place to sit, have a hot drink and something to eat while waiting for your loved one in surgery. I've only ever been met by the friendliest faces and warm customer service. The ambience is perfect for when you anxiously wait. Seating is plentiful and choice of cuisine is vast. Compared to many medical eateries The Botanist is reasonably priced.

Very disappointing after enquiring about the prices I order this and was charged $2 more than this! This is in a cafe at a public hospital where the only clientele is either working staff or patients it's commercial abuse of those least able to complain (or even realise they are being ripped off!).

I was very disappointed by the Botanist unfortunately. Last week my colleague and I went there for lunch. I got the large size pesto pasta takeaway and my colleague got the small size pesto pasta. We compared the sizes once we had left and found that the sizes were extremely similar in size/quantity. The only difference between the two sizes is the price. The small size was $5 and the large size was $13.50. That is an $8.50 difference. I was frustrated but decided I would just get the small size next time. Today I went back to the Botanist today for lunch with the same colleague. My colleague ordered first and got the small size pesto pasta. I went next and asked for the same thing, but was served by a different staff member. She told me that they don’t actually sell the small size individually. It’s actually a side that you order with a meal. At this point I wasn’t aware of what my colleague ordered this time. I told the staff member that my colleague was able to order the small size by itself last week and she said that they’re not actually supposed to sell it like that. I said okay and that I wasn’t going to get anything at all. I went over to my colleague and told her what happened and she told me that she was just able to buy the small size by itself. I took her small portion and showed the staff member who served me and she reiterated that the staff member who served my colleague wasn’t supposed to sell it like that. The staff member who served me wasn’t apologetic, didn’t offer an alternative or any other options, didn’t say that she would serve it to me today only seeing as my colleague was able to buy it seconds before me. She was quite blunt and didn’t come across as friendly and I felt uncomfortable about the idea of providing feedback in person. I decided to go somewhere else to buy lunch and will be hesitant to revisit the Botanist again in the future which is a shame because I am in the area every week and it is a beautifully...

One. Staff member was hostile and obviously having a bad day, we ordered and only part of the order came out, when we approached him he told us we didn’t order it. I looked at my family member and she said we had definitely ordered it. We were both at the register we both heard what we ordered. Open our teas and both were black when we ordered white. To save any more aggregation we went to another staff member to get milk. I then went back to the register and the original staff member approached and said if you want you can have it but you didn’t pay for it. I looked at him and said that’s what I’m here for. I added I am sorry you are having a bad day but please don’t take it out on me, he denied having a bad day, I paid for the sandwich and he walked away without another word. We finally got the rest of the order. Not one other staff member was hostile or angry nor did they treat us with the same distain. Perhaps a training lesson in customer...

I work at the hospital and have been to this cafe a few times for coffee and breakfast and have been disappointed every time. It is expensive and I must say, not worth the price, however this is the closest option given the very limited time I have on my break to eat breakfast.

Service is so so. A few times I was made to wait without acknowledgement and the staff was right in front of me making coffee. No hi hello or good morning we’ll be with you in a minute sort of thing. Oh well. You can get better value for money elsewhere. Interiors looks...
