The Fire Station, located on Queen Street in Busselton, is a great venue. Once upon a time, it was the actual Busselton fire station. It was built in 1936 and is a classic old building full of character. They serve a good variety of food, including breakfast from 7 am – 11.30 am. With everything from a granola bowl, the classic ‘eggs your way’ to the ever present smashed avo and the equally common breaky burger. The venue is vegetarian and gluten free friendly too, which is good for those with dietary restrictions. Along with breakfast, they have fiery bites, which are your entrees. This includes things like cheesy garlic bread, fries and fish tacos. I opted for the fish tacos, which were nice. They happened to be gluten free and came with slaw, jalapenos, and pickled onions and lime yoghurt. The fish was well cooked and the other ingredients worked well with each other, so the dish had a good overall texture. There were two tacos, so it was more of a snack, but well worth trying. That said, I would have liked a bit less yoghurt on mine. But that’s really just a personal preference. I also had the fries, which came with a curried mayo dipping sauce. This was a bit different to the typical aioli/mayo/tomato sauce you usually get at places. But it actually worked pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised. They also do big bites, which are your more substantial meals – your burgers (wagyu or veggie) as well as things like prawn or mushroom linguine, along with barramundi. There’s also a great selection of pizzas, served from 12 onwards. The names are suitably goofy, which I love. There’s the ‘clucking good’ chicken pizza, as well as the prawn star. The names are right up my alley! They also do hot drinks – coffee, chais and teas, along with cakes such as carrot cake and banana bread, all priced under $10. They even do milkshakes, which is nice for those hot days when you just want to cool down. The drinks menu is pretty good too, with fresh juices also priced under $10, which is good value. Plus, there’s soft drink along with a few mocktails. They also have a whole lot of cocktails to choose from – the mango mojito looked pretty good to me. The cool names continued on the cocktail list, with the daquiri appropriately named the ‘drop your daquiris!’ Oh, and there’s also a selection of spirits that would make most aficionados happy. I counted 11 American whiskeys alone! There’s also beer and wine for those inclined that way. There’s plenty of seating and you can sit outside, have a beer and watch the world go by. The creepers and hanging plants provide a nice atmosphere too. Oh, and the big metal chain one of the plants is hanging from is just too cool. It gives a slightly industrial vibe without taking away from the cool atmosphere. Plus, the outside area is mostly well protected from the weather. There’s funky lights too, which make for an interesting décor. It's definitely a popular venue. I was there on the Christmas break and by the time I left, it was full of people. Oh, and the people next to me ordered a pizza and it looked amazing! The Fire Station is kid friendly too, with the typical kid friendly choices listed under ‘little bites.’ If I was a kid, I’d go with the chicken nuggets and chips. Overall, the Fire Station is a cool venue with a great vibe and a cool history. It’s great to see something from history re-purposed instead of being turned into a real estate development. The staff are friendly too, which is nice. So, if you’re ever in Busselton, feel free to drop on in to the Fire Station. Whether it’s for a drink or a meal, you’ll definitely have a good time.

The reviews brought us here to try their dinner on a Saturday night. It was an old fire station converted to a bar restaurant, and centrally located on Queen st near the iconic Busselton jetty. The customer services from the predominately young staff were friendly and efficient. We had 2 toddlers without a booking, and one of the staff was kind enough to find us a table outside by consolidating the patrons from another table. We ordered the chilli Sambal lamb ribs, & pulled pork pizza with the side serve of fire-station fries. The lamb ribs were not spicy enough, and even our toddlers had no issues devouring them. The Pulled Pork pizza with jalapeño were slightly spicier for the kids but the huge serving means we had leftovers to take away. Fries were chunky and favoursome too. Tips 1 : being a bar, they only had 1 high chair so be prepared if you have more than q kids in tow Tips 2 : Entertainment App has a 25% off redeemable code

Had dinner here recently and was quite pleased with the experience. Overall the food wasn’t spectacular, but it was enjoyable and easy to eat. Chicken ribs and chilli squid were nice. The burger was for my son so I didn’t get to try. But he demolished it so it must be a good sign. Fish taco was the only average dish we had. The rhubarb tart was nice but it needed more vanilla ice cream as the rhubarb was very tart and needed something sweet and cd like the ice cream to cut through it. Apart from that, service in this place was absolute top notch. The folks are very accommodating and place has such a great vibe. Perfect for a hangout spot, especially on a beautiful day like this recent weekend. Definitely a spot to check out in Busso. PSA! No more pizzas in this spot so if you plan to get that, it’s no longer there.

Went last night to go an try somewhere new to quench my thirst for alcohol. Heat lamps outside not a bad touch at all, if everything wasnt so average i could have sat there all night ordering drinks..

The chips were soggier then HJs chips and the bourbon maple Mojito was weak AF in taste and alcohol content, honestly it would have taken many drink orders to feel the effects of drunkness. (and im a lightweight) .Every time i tried to sip i had leaves clogging up my cheap cardboard straw (which ended up breaking halfway through the drink because i couldnt drink it fast enough). The acoustics for the music outside were terrible and made me feel like i was on trips and time and space was stretching apart with each note. Not sure if this was the DJ song choice or just speaker setup. i really wanted to sit on my ass for hours but ended up leaving very quick . I will never return to this bar .Cocktail menu was small and both the bourbon slushee and maple mojito sucked ass. sorry guys it was a relief to gtfo of your bar.

The strangest thing was there seemed to be other happy patrons sitting in there drinking and eating. Not sure if they are just accustomed to this low standard of venue or where also caught in the spiders web. Anyone who thinks this place is cool has 'never ...

First time visitors for lunch. Four of us who had never been before went for lunch on a recommendation. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The young lady serving was amazing so polite, very helpful and served with a lovely smile. I ordered a burger, husband chips, relatives a Waygu beef pizza between the two and 3 of us Lemon, lime and bitters. I am not in to being overly critical of eateries and just put it down to trying out a new venue but I have to say this was a huge disappointment. My Waygu burger was not too bad but the chips left a lot to be desired. So thin and covered in a Paprika mix ?? and totally tasteless. I tried the Pizza and a huge disappointment, The Waygu beef combination with the herb (we couldn't figure out if it was dill or Thyme or whatever) was the weirdest combination ever tasted. (I have worked in the hospitality industry for 4 years making approx 50-60 Pizzas per weekend and I have never tasted a pizza this bland) The Lemon, Lime and Bitters was nothing like Pub lemon, lime and bitters :( We could not fault the service or the venue, especially the lovely young lady who was most helpful and great service, but I think a bit of a review of food...
