Byron Corner Store — Restaurant in Byron Bay

Had a horrible experience at this cafe. My friend and I were excited to have breakfast here. We had walked past it the day before and were for sure ready to have breakfast at this adorable looking cafe. We went in ordered are food and tea etc which was all great. The new girl who started was great and friendly, more than I could say for the others.

We then continued to sit down and wait for our food.. I was wearing a bikini top and a towel round my shoulders and a beach cover skirt. Which clearly the girls behind the counter thought was for some reason ridiculous. Which I can’t understand why.. they are located a street away from the beach?? And I’m not exactly huge and even if I was who cares.. who are you to judge right???!!!

We basically caught them talking about me and of course they will act like it never happened to a manger or whatever just thought putting something like this where it may or may not be read might make the girls realise that small comments like that can really ruin a experience/day for someone.

Went in to get a pie. Lady charged me double for the pie. Proceeded to drop the pie on the ground pick it up and microwave it. When i noticed i was charged double i got half my money back, they couldn’t refund me back to my card and just gave me cash. Then i saw another worker take the pie out of the microwave and put it back in the window. Obviously a complete lack of communication. After that i figured they might as well keep the 7 bucks for a burnt floor pie.

Edit: I appreciate the reply, there was only one pie left and it was clearly dropped. As i could tell they laughed and freaked out about it and lent down to pick it up. Im not trying to incite anything, I have had a lot of good experiences in byron bay but this was not one of them. The...

Not a bad spot, busy part of town. I wasn't all that impressed when I ordered Chai Tea (as opposed to Latte Powder) using the Hey You App, only to be told when I arrived that they only have latte, and have never had loose leaf teas. I'm not really a fan of latte powder! Anyhow it wasn't a terrible experience but just a bit of a shame. Obviously the staff don't really have a good grasp of what's on their online menu.
