Great place. Would so come back here. Ordered breakfast via the table order QR code and that was on point simple and everything came no issues I was really impressed. We got here at 7am and some families were in, cyclists stopped in still in lycra and people from the gym after sessions, single and couple diners, some having a hot drink and reading newspapers and the service still flowed. I'm sure the waitress got her 10k plus steps in. It was just so relaxing. The place has a massive layout, for indoor and outdoor undercover or open air. Inside there are booths tables and leaners with stools don't know their names but that's what I'll call them. The areas are partitioned but have booths in all areas and option of seating on high or low tables.
I order a hot drink The Dirty Chai latte was phenomenal! I loved it but what made it great for me is it was sooo full of cinnamon flavour and didn't compromise the added milk it was a perfect blend and mix. I probably should have taken it away as I couldn't finish it but next time. I got the potato corn mozzarella and Chipotle fritters with poached eggs, Chipotle and red dukkah aioli served with a fennel salad. I think it is. The fritters were ok but I was taken back by the salad and Chipotle aioli and the poached eggs the fritters didn't really get a look in haha. They were round and thick fritters tasty but a bit dry for me, but it didn't matter as the rest of the dish was a winner. Egg was perfectly poached and honestly I don't eat salad for breakfast but this day I smashed that back as the flavour was so fresh and the dressing delicious that I couldn't stop. I loved stopping here and see it's a local favourite and know why. They have a water station for you to help yourself or the waitress will bring it, a cute coffee corner at the counter to order your drinks and the bar is long and just a lovely clean establishment. Staff were amazing so friendly and have that I'll help with any Q's you have service that I've experienced all around Canberra. It's something I truly miss when coming back to NSW. The toilets were clean and well stocked smelt nice and clean too. I really couldn't fault it and it was so nice to be back in Braddan. Recommend if this is breakfast we will be back next time to try...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I attended Assembly for a work lunch with 12 other colleagues. Despite having a booking they split us over 3 U shaped booths that prevented us all from sitting together. When we went to order one of the bar staff was standing at a cash register having a conversation with his dero looking mate and equally bogan girlfriend. They continued to talk and ignore us the entire time we queued and were served by the other 2 bar men. I ordered a Chicken Ceaser Salad and paid then returned to our booth.
The waitress came out with a ceaser salad and asked who ordered it. I told her it wasn't me and that I was waiting for one with Chicken. She left and then came back with the barman whom I ordered from. The barman said to me "You ordered the ceaser salad mate" I replied I ordered a Chicken Ceaser Salad and he walked off.
He then returned with a eftpos machine and told me I would have to pay another $6 for the chicken. Our workstaff at this point had ordered well over $400 worth of food and drinks.
When my Chicken Ceaser Salad arrived, the $6 worth of chicken was a very small portion, and the salad now costing $24 was pretty average and disappointing.
I can accept that sometimes orders are misheard, but the way it was handled and how I was treated means our workplace will never return to Assembly again. The overall attitude of the staff was unforgivable.
It pains me to give a one star review, but good customer service costs nothing and a tiny portion of chicken on a salad...
Read moreAssembly The People’s Pub certainly caught my attention with its bustling atmosphere and energetic vibes, indicating a popular spot among locals and visitors alike.
Unfortunately, the venue's digital approach via a QR code menu fell short of expectations. Notably absent was the option to choose non-alcoholic drinks, and an inability to customize meals was a notable disappointment.
More concerning was the confusion surrounding their gluten-free offerings. The menu prominently listed items as gluten-free, which should have been reassuring for our coeliac friend. However, our server's confirmation was quickly countered by another staff member upon serving the food, stating that most of it was not coeliac friendly. This lack of clarity and consistency left us perplexed, questioning the purpose of a largely gluten-free menu that couldn't cater to coeliac needs.
Despite these shortcomings, I have to commend the kitchen on their execution of the meals we did have. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying salad packed a punch of flavor.
In conclusion, Assembly The People’s Pub offers a decent dining experience but needs to address the misleading gluten-free menu and enhance its digital offerings. I’d rate it as an average experience, but one that could improve with better communication and a more...
