I was frankly quite shocked to see a Zhangliang in Canberra!
They had similar veggie options to those I’d see in Singapore, however their soup bases were quite limiting and didn’t have the main mala soup broth I was hoping I’d get.
The only vegetarian broth they have is the tomato one which is delicious indeed, but not spicy at all for the mala I had imagined it to be hehe
They do have chilli oil and other condiments for the Mala which helps enhance the taste so would definitely recommend adding that on the noodles!
For some reason I found the Mala here way more spicy expensive than that in SG, I’ve come here twice and it was around 30 AUD each time.
It’s a very filling meal depending on the number of ingredients you add, and you could definitely takeaway the mala as a second meal if you’ve ordered enough, haha.

It does, however, get extremely busy. It took me and my friends a while to finally get our seats, and even after we got our food, we couldn't start eating because there was no spoons left. Waited for around 10 minutes for our spoons, and when they finally came out, my friend's vermicelli has sucked a large portion of her soup. Water is also self-service, but the water jug is very often empty. They get refilled quite quick after you told the staff about it though so that's...
