Verity Lane is a boutique food hall which opened towards the tail end of 2020. For such a unique concept, it's never had the hype it deserved. This is possibly due to COVID interruptions leading to a limited number of vendors. I personally loved the concept, building design, styling and chilled vibes. If you like food courts at malls, here's the after hours, grown up version. It's a very beautifully designed food hall, with 2 main entrances for customers.[From Northbourne & from the carpark]. It's very easy to pick up or collect food, since there's plenty of parking space. There's 3 main spaces, plus one upstairs. By the carpark, there's an outdoor casual space for drinks and chit chat. (Too cold for the Canberra winter and not in use) The indoor space is partitioned into 2: One giving wine bar vibes (see big wall of drinks) & the other giving mess hall vibes. It's easy to circulate and order what you want. Menus are clear and concise. At this time, there are only 3 food places. Ramen Daddy, Artigiana, and Super Bao. If you're looking for Dear Prudence, Project Enoki or Uno Tapas, they are long gone. There's only one place for drinks - Louie Louie. Recommend: Tiramisu ( $12) Pizza Artigiana. 3 Baos for $21 from SuperBao Fries and ramen gravy ( $8) from Ramen daddy. For the non alcoholics, try a freshly squeezed juice from the bar ($7). Also remember to ask for water here as the food places don't seem to have cups or water bottles. For something filling, try Artigiana's 4 cheese pizza.

Glad to have finally visited Verity Lane. The venue is nicely designed and features a few food vendors, some that are there short term. We tried a few different food places. -At Super Bao we had the Shanghai style duck bun which was surprisingly flavourless. The presentation was nice but the bao disappointed. -Project Enoki we had the steamed scallops and chicken laksa with rice. The scallops were a bit small for their price but tasted ok. The chicken laksa was probably the highlight of the night with crispy yet tender chicken and flavourful sauce. -and lastly we ordered the chicken broth ramen with pork. The green coloured liquid was a bit off putting, with the broth flavour being ok. Otherwise the noodles and pork were cooked nicely. Overall I would say VL is more suited for drinking and catching up over a casual meal like pizza etc.

This is our solid go to for dinner dates, group catch ups and just plain ol' casual nights in. The hall is clean, modern and spacious, with ample dining room (just walk through to the second half towards Northbourne if you're unfamiliar with the setting). Project Enoki was our favourite but they've since wrapped up (I understand it was only ever meant to be temporary) - but gosh we'll miss Gerald Ong's delectable dishes! It was incredible to have a chef of his calibre (previously at Chairman and Yip) casually whipping out scallops and filet-o-baos! Can't wait to see what's next for Verity Lane. It's been great to see that end of town revitalised with something so lively and exciting.

I went through Verity Lane Market for a 21st, was more drama than it was worth. I dealt with Steph and Georgie, both had very poor communication, and stuffed me around for months. It took months to have the venue and food confirmed as it took many days to a week for a single reply. Id organised a phone call suiting them and they never followed through, each week I had to send multiple emails and make phone calls chasing up a response from the previous week. When I asked for specific pricing it was never given only a venue price here, food there, all over the shop. I tried to confirm the final price agreed being $1500 to which they said yes and then sent me invoices for $2,200… claiming other things were not included (which I asked to confirm previously). I was told we had access to a bar (dear prudence bar) just outside our room (Edith room) as I specified people would be buying cocktails and spirits. Turns out the bar mentioned only provided fruity beers and wines. The cocktail bar was in the other side of the building. Steph then became rude after I expressed frustration about the price constantly changing after being confirmed as well as them leaving helpful responses until a week and half prior to the event. I was greeted with emails saying “I hope you are happy today” “if this isn’t good enough maybe we are not the venue for you” when it was them who made me leave it last minute confirming prices and food and then weeks later changing things, they were unhelpful and showed poor communication but by the time I realised how rude they were it was already too last minute to go book a venue elsewhere to which they took advantage of the fact. On a brighter note I didn’t have to deal with Steph on the night and had two very helpful staff Lewie and Ben, if you manage to deal this two you are in luck. The food was also delicious, especially the bao burgers and...

My Feedback and experience.

New to Canberra actively searching for venues to celebrate my best friends 40th birthday later this year... I called 3 places only to be told they were booked out. I then called and checked with Vanity Lane and asked to speak with an event manager or a party coordinator and was transferred through to a lovely lady named Stephanie.... She was such a delight!!! and i thought great this lady knows what she is talking about, after openly speaking with her she reasured me she will do what ever she can to help me pull this party off. With that said I went through some dates with her, she gave me a run down on menus, room hire, how many guests for catering estimated costs.....nothing was too hard she really knew what she was talking about to make the customer happy, her attention to detail was outstanding she was articulate and professional and that was just in a phone call.... love it!!!! I look forward to speaking with her again to lock in a date once I have confirmed with my bestie.

Thank again you so much Stephanie for your kindness and professionalism you really know...
