3.5 stars Newly opened for 2 months. Venue: Parking at street. Located in Mantra on Hay Hotel. Casual setting. Spacious indoor and 2-3outdoor high tables. ---7/10 Service: dine in indoors or outdoors, room service and takeaway. Give us a menu and the order slip to write down our orders. Thus, go to the cashier to order and pay. No basket of utensils on my table. Get the utensils, tissues, and water at the self-service counter. However, there was not enough water and no chopsticks at the self-service counter when we came. They refilled later, and then chilled tap water was available. Food served fast. The waitresses weren't so skillful. Could the younger actress handle the dishesgently? --- 6.7/10 Food: simple menu with photos. Mainly serves Chinese food, from dim sums, homemade roast meat, soup and congee noodles soup, sizzling, side dishes, rice, mains, and vegetarians. Reasonable price. Good portions. General causal presentation without garnish. We didn't try roast ducks cos higher prices than other Chinese BBQ restaurants, but they looked good. Kung Pow Prawn Rice. $18.8: There were 8 prawns (normal size) and assorted vegetables. Good portion. The sauce was slightly salty and not spicy for my liking . The texture and portion of the steamed white rice were normal. The peanuts were very crunchy. --- 7.35/10 Hainanese Chicken Rice, $16.8: served with 4 crunchy cucumber, 2 dips, and a small bowl of clear soup. I prefer separating two dips. The grated ginger dip was very fresh. The aroma rice was good, and the soup was not bad. There was too much salty sauce beneath the chicken and rice. The texture of the chicken was not silky but not bad. --- 7/10 Dim sum needed longer time to steam. Salted Egg Yolk Buns, $9.8/3: the buns were slightly dry outside. The filling was too watery without any sandy texture (流"沙"). --- 5.5/10 Beef Short Ribs in Black pepper sauce, $10.8: served very late. The flavor black pepper wasn't strong...

The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The menu is packed with a fantastic selection of authentic Chinese dishes, each prepared with the perfect balance of flavors, fresh ingredients, and expert craftsmanship.
I was absolutely blown away by the crispy Peking duck—perfectly roasted with a golden, crispy skin and tender, flavorful meat. The dumplings were handmade perfection, bursting with juicy, savory fillings. The kung pao chicken had the perfect level of spice and crunch, and the seafood dishes were incredibly fresh and well-seasoned. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with rich, authentic flavors.
Beyond the food, the service was top-notch—fast, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The portions were generous, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the high quality of food and experience.

Read moreI went in last week to order takeaway. As I entered I walked to the counter where one of the staff was. They were making a drink so I waited. The staff member finished making the drink turned towards me and walked past on the other side of the counter not even acknowledging me to take the drinks to customers. Even a “Hi, I will be with you in a minute would have been fine”. Instead they then proceeded to start taking food to tables then went to the payment station. A few minutes had passed before I was acknowledged and my order taken.
It would help if there was signage to say please wait here to be seated, order for takeaway etc.
Food was ok but didn’t stand out to other places locally. Also seemed more expensive compared to what you get locally as well in terms of portion and quality.
Edit: Since the kind offer from venue I went in again and ordered takeaway. The service was much better this time and was acknowledged straight away. I would give 4 stars for the service on this occasion so have changed it from 2 to 3 to reflect both experiences. Food quality, quantity and pricing remains the same as my...
