Travelled to Geraldton for a road trip with my wife and was recommended to check out Cafe Fleur by friends and colleagues. Arrived in Geraldton and headed straight there for lunch. My wife ordered the Pork belly salad and I got the Halloumi in a wrap (can’t remember what else was in it)
While waiting for our food, there was a loud pop sound, and apparently there was a power outage. Staff couldn’t use the register, make coffees (had to turn away a few customers and refund a couple), but lights and fan were still going (thankfully).
We received our food quite promptly and started digging in. Pork belly salad (according to my wife) was exceptional. Nothing like what she’s ever had before.
I took a bite into my wrap and that’s when I felt something sharp poked the roof of my mouth. I was in complete shock as I pulled out a bamboo skewer knotted pick from the inside of my wrap. I had to wait a few moments before getting the attention of a waitress (as they were busy doing a few refunds due to the power outage), and the reply I got was “oh I’m sorry I’ll just blame it on the power outage in the kitchen” and end of conversation. I’m not sure if she was the manager on duty, but was definitely not offered any other words like I’ll grab my manager, or I’ll talk to the kitchen staff and get back to you etc.
I have a photo of the bamboo knotted skewer pick. It has avocado all around the head (which is obviously the case as it is completely stuck into the wrap!! I’m pretty sure if the knotted head was sticking out above the wrap, I would have noticed it, felt it, or even poked my nose with it before I could bite down.
I finished the food regardless as we drove 5 hours to Geraldton and was exhausted and hungry. But completely disappointed with the experience and service we received, especially from all the recommendations we’ve got. Will definitely be sharing my experience with family...
Read moreStaff are rude. Can’t get a basic coffee order correct. Asked for Iced Mocha with Almond milk, no cream or ice cream, stated several times, comes out with ice cream. Another coffee took over an hour to come out when ordered same time as the others and was asked for several times and staff said its busy and to wait and rolled eyes at us. Some of the worst customer service have ever experienced. When a mistake is made, thats ok, but apology only after manager coming out and only making excuses on how busy they are. If you can’t handle the orders you get and fix mistakes properly, then get more competent staff. Apparently it is very difficult to add extra ingredients to an omelette? I wanted the veggie omelette with Bacon added but this was to hard to manage? Unsure why, no other places have an issue with this, essentially as you pay extra for it. The only redeeming quality that gave this 2 stars rather then one, was that the food was edible. Nothing special, but the price and quality fit. Too bad for the horrible service staff. Won’t be coming back due to that, will be trying the several other breakfast cafes in...
Read moreWhen we arrived they told us to take a menu and they would come to take our order. They never came and eventually I went inside to order. I also asked for water and they said they would bring it out, but it never came. Eventually I asked a waitress who was clearing the tables for our water. It was slammed onto the table without a word from the waitress. My lunch then arrived, but not my husband's order. After waiting for some time longer, my husband went to ask and they said they did not have an order for him! We had been waiting for so long by then from when we first sat down, that my husband could not be bothered anymore. It was his birthday! They did remember our tea that we had ordered for after our meal and that arrived, but we did not really feel like it anymore by then. I have to say that my food was great. I had beetroot and pumpkin salad with added chicken. But it was a bit awkward to be the...
