Last night we ordered takeaway and were told it was going to be a half hour wait. After following up several times and despite there being only a few tables, it took 1.5 hours to get our food. We were told several times it was “coming soon”. When I looked around the restaurant, I made eye contact with several other unhappy customers who had experienced a similar long wait for their dine in. I understand that it is a new restaurant but please manage customer expectations. Just as he was finally bringing the bags to us, another customer asked for a stove. Instead of telling them to wait, he put down the bags and attended to him. Prioritisation was questionable.
The food itself was mostly good though. The pho was flavoursome and the snails were a pleasant surprise. However the portions are small for their price. I don’t know if it was the takeaway packaging that reduced the quantity but the protein pieces were small.
The pork chop with broken rice was a disappointment unfortunately. Small and not worth the price. Would have liked tomato rice for another layer of flavour.
The pho broth was good but given the order of production it was not hot enough when we got it and we had to reheat at home.
The restaurant has potential but needs some thought to processes/kitchen management and managing customer expectations. Understand that ours was a fairly large order (7 mains and rolls) so we tried to give a bit of grace but 1.5hrs is just...
Read moreExcellent Vietnamese restaurant in Broadbeach, close to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. I came here in the middle of the afternoon for a quick lunch, and it was notably quiet, with me being the only patron. The owner is very friendly and the food arrived quickly. The menu is extensive and should have something for everyone. The interior is casual and no-frills, reflecting the fair prices for the area and there is also a small outside sitting area. Most importantly though, the food was delicious. I had their signature Special 90 Plus Broken Rice, which is a combination of a nicely seasoned and tasty pork chop, sausage, rice, a fried egg, cucumber, carrots, chillies and Vietnamese sauces. The dish constituted a great combination of flavors and textures, light and fresh at the same time, with the perfect level of spiciness (i.e., the chillies added just the right amount of heat, so that it was neither too mild/bland nor too hot). Can definitely recommend this place for a satisfying meal that doesn’t hurt...

4⭐️it’s my first visit for my lunch 😊 I had BBQ pork skewers for $15 and 90 plus pho for $30. Overall I could give them nearly 5⭐️ just for the flavor 😉 Unfortunately, the oxtail was so hard to eat...😅 I expected the meat fell a part from the bone… Then the skewers were pricy for size 🤔 It was quite enjoyable lunch, I’d love to try other dishes...
