I’m absolutely delighted. My experience was highlighted to begin with having been served by a beyond polite gentleman. Place was so clean and taken care of. Takeaway was in absolutely perfect condition after bringing it home. Everything is beyond fresh and made with care. I don’t like fried food yet had crispy taro roll and tried also soy bean curd they weren’t oily and didn’t feel heavy at all. Wontons were amazing and fresh. At first I didn’t even realise this was a vego cafe, just thought they have it available as an option, but when I tried the bao I noticed that was not meat:) Baos were also super fresh and soft even after some period passed the only thing was bbq pork fake meat had some weird aftertaste, but this is just a matter of personal preference. What shocked me the most (in a good way) was the fact that everything was so lightly seasoned (some could say underseasoned), but with the amount of salt everywhere these days I really appreciated that as it’s so good for your body. I had crispy noodle salad sauce at home with sesame oil and used a touch of soy sauce which added that extra taste I wanted and I could season it as I pleased without it being too salty. Everything was super fresh and felt so healthy, thank you for this wonderful...
Read moreAs we were a large group of visitors, we called the restaurant beforehand to tell them to expect us before the kitchen closed.
Tried ordering a few dishes over the phone while getting there but it was just easier to finalise the order on arrival by about 7.45pm, fifteen minutes prior to the time their kitchen closes.
I was told that the Taiwanese salt and pepper chicken was a kids favourite so ordered this as well as a large sweet and sour pork, two serves of fried rice with ham, stir fried mixed vegetables as well as mushroom soup and sour spicy soup.
The mushroom soup tasted more of mushroom oyster sauce and hardly had any mushrooms in it! Sour spicy soup did not meet expectations either.
The servings aren't very generous but this can be expected due to the high cost of mock meats. We were told that the Bok Choy was nearly over for the day so there would only be a little in the dish, however there was SCARCE broccoli, carrots, beans, zucchini....there was an abundance of cabbage in the dish which was very disappointing considering the price!
The kids enjoyed their sweet and sour, rice and Taiwanese chicken but the rest was simply a let down!
Apparently they have a sister concern Doko Demo V which has a play at Western...
Read moreParking: plenty of street parking during weekday lunch time.
Accessibility: Ramp was over the stairs however there is a slight bump where the sliding doors have to close over. People in wheelchairs or using walking aids may need additional help over it.
Restaurant itself is quite spacious.
Atmosphere was very calming. Soothing music and very clean.
Service was fantastic. Hostess recommended dishes when asked and took our order accurately.
Food: we ordered deep fried mushrooms, crispy chicken 3 ways, char kway teow noodles with duck and plain white rice. Total was $53 including two takeaway boxes (50c each)
Mushrooms were a nice entree when paired with the chilli sauce and soy sauce. The chicken was very tasty and filling. The duck had a nice texture, very silky and tender. The noodles were delicious. The two of us ate until full and still had some leftover to takeaway for one more meal.
Enjoyed it immensely....
