Can be hit or miss here depending on what you order. We go on a weekly basis before a movie or after a UFC fight. We have Star platinum, gold and bronze members in our family. Staff have been mostly friendly and accommodating, except when I was told it would cost a dollar when I asked for basic hot sauce, and we had just paid for a large meal (we usually go with 4 to 6 people). What a bunch of penny pinching nonsense.
Here's what we found has been good:
Spicy Buffalo crispy fried wings & blue cheese dip are on point, we have 2 Americans in our family and you guys have got this down to a T, so keep it up!
The pumpkin salad and caesar salad are winners!
The Singapore style Lobster special with fried rice was delicious, can you please do more of this dish as it is underrated.
The meat lovers pizza, supreme pizza, chicken parmesan, chicken schnitzel with gravy, corned beef special, chicken burger, spring rolls, butter chicken, pumpkin soup, onion rings, wedges and roast beef plate have all been very good.
The vanilla slices and other cakes have all been great. No complaints.
What's been mediocre and inconsistent:
The calamari was good one time and overcooked, almost burnt another time. Same with the t-bone steak and the beef burger. Also one time you had horseradish, another time you did not. Some consistency would be nice.
What's been a disappointment:
The steak and bugs special was bad, nothing good to say about it but bland, dry, and overcooked, some steak sauce and garlic butter would've been nice. The side salads that come with a meal are tiny and barely have any dressing on them and are mostly tasteless (perhaps offer other dressings too for some variety), they're more like a garnish than anything. The lobster mornay special was overcooked and pretty awful, we left still hungry. The roast lamb special was tough, overcooked and barely had any gravy on it and was super bland. Don't ever skimp on gravy with the roast dinner plates!! May I suggest adding herbs, garlic & olive oil to the vegetables? Or at least lemon pepper seasoning or something. It's like eating...
Read moreAfter a number of visits to the Food Quarter, I thought it was a great opportunity to share my experiences. The ladies at the counter (ordering) have all been friendly and welcoming. The food quality has been a bit spasmodic, however, it has generally been really good, even during busy periods. My favourite dish has been the Combination Stir Fry, which is delicious. I was disappointed recently (in fact over a 3 week timeframe) to not enjoy this particular dish, and advised that this was because the wok was broken. After having read about the appointment of the new CEO end his expected salary package, I would like to think fixing the wok wouldn’t be an issue and its repair expedited. Thankfully, when visiting two days ago, I was told that the wok was finally fixed. I must mention the amazing Asian supervisor/manager (I apologise for not remembering her name) who works there is fantastic and is exceedingly calm under pressure. She is a real asset, takes ownership of any issue in a professional, yet friendly manner, and in my opinion does shine when compared to the other supervisors. Read moreAbsolutely ridiculous and appalling service tonight, waiting over 30 minutes for a meal to then go up to the counter and be told they have been buzzing us? Well tell me why our buzzer wasn’t going off? Food ended up being cold with no apology. Couple hours later thought we would get a coffee and cake, tell me why that took over 30 minutes? Girl behind the machine looked like it was her first time working it. Order a cheesecake and it’s the last one, lady behind then asks for one and gets given it right away therefore I miss out on the cheesecake I had ordered and paid for before her. Never had such slow service anywhere in my life.
Edit: ended up going upto the counter and advising we had been waiting over 30 mins for our cake and coffee, seems the order may have gotten lost. I assume the guy we spoke to was the manager and he was apologetic about it and offered a refund and free cake so the 2 stars for service are for him.
