The Nineteen at The Star is a fabulous fine dining restaurant and a Rooftop Bar located on the 19th level of The Darling. The restaurant occupies half of the floor to the right of the lifts, while the other half is home to a bar and nightclub. This setup allows guests to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while watching a breathtaking sunset from the balcony or return after dinner for more drinks and a lively party atmosphere.
One downside is that all drinks in the bar are served in plasticware due to the proximity to the swimming pool area, which slightly diminished my enjoyment of the rosé, as I missed having it in a beautiful wine glass. However, you can start a bottle at the bar and finish it in the restaurant, where they have a proper wine glasses.
The venue is luxuriously designed, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase spectacular views of the Gold Coast. The dimmed lighting creates a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. The impressive kitchen is set behind a glass wall, allowing guests to observe the entire operation.
We enjoyed all our starters, which included fresh and baked oysters, beetroot salad, and beef tartare—all beautifully presented and delicious. For mains, we had two steaks, Patagonian toothfish, and Moreton Bay bugs. The steaks and fish were cooked to perfection, but unfortunately, the bugs were overly seasoned on top, which masked the delicate flavor of the seafood.
The side dishes were much appreciated, especially the pumpkin and mashed potatoes. And a chocolate treats that we were given after dinner were an absolute delight!
Service was generally good, though it started a bit rocky as we struggled with a couple of young waitstaff. Thankfully, a knowledgeable and attentive gentleman named [my apologies for not providing his name] took over and took excellent care of us.
This restaurant is definitely worth visiting for a special dinner and also offers breakfast and lunch service. Bookings are highly recommended, but sometimes you can get lucky with a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Nineteen at The Star, and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff, who made me feel at home and attended to my every need.
The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning, with a modern and elegant design that perfectly captures the essence of the food and atmosphere. The open kitchen allows diners to see the chefs at work, and the floor-to-ceiling windows provide beautiful views of the surrounding area.
The bread was fresh, warm, and perfectly baked, and was served with caramelised butter and oil.
The mains at Nineteen at The Star did not disappoint. I ordered the 300gr steak, which was cooked to perfection and served with a variety of delicious sides, including heirloom tomatoes, mashed potato, handcut fries, and roasted brussel sprouts. The flavors were rich and complex, and the presentation was impeccable.
The wine selection at Nineteen at The Star is also impressive, with a diverse range of options to complement the food. I sampled a few different red wines during my meal, and each one was carefully chosen and expertly paired with the dishes. The red wines were rich and full-bodied, and provided the perfect complement to the steak.
Overall, my experience at Nineteen at The Star was truly exceptional. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch, and I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you are looking for a truly memorable dining experience, I highly recommend Nineteen at The Star – you will not be...
Read moreWent here to take my partner’s parents to dinner. Terrible service, was rushed to order soon as we sat down. Then got told we had to leave by 7:30 we’d been seated at 5:45. Food took ages to come out as-well as drinks. There was 5 of us only 2 of us ordered mains the rest ordering entrees, as well as some sides to share. Was never offered a dessert menu to even look at. The waitress kept hovering around trying to clear plates as quickly as possible. Whole thing felt very rushed and food was nothing special. We’ve been here before for dinner and it was a much better experience food wise and service wise. Went to get the bill and they wouldn’t accept my star membership card even though our whole group are members I had 100 casino dollars on my card which I was going to put towards the bill, however the waitress wouldn’t let me do that or even gain the points for paying the bill, my card also grants a 20% discount at the stars multiple restaurants and bars and that was also disregarded. My partner and I spend a fair bit of money at the casino and are quite regular. Thought we’d be looked after a bit better. Apparently there policy had changed all of a sudden, and that only a group of four or less can get the discount. I should’ve booked two separate tables and dragged them together my partner and I have the same tier card. Very disappointed, I think it’s quite obvious the casino is undergoing financial troubles, how that is possible is beyond me it’s a casino after all. Won’t be...
