My partner and I came into the helensvale restaurant just after 10:00 pm a few days back, we originally were going to walk in but as majority of the store looked cleaned we thought we would go through the drive-through.
As we slowly pulled up to the speaker box, we were lately greeted with "hi what would you like" as I told the staff member what my partner wanted I had to think for a moment on what I wanted; mindue no customers were behind me in the drive-through, so no rush was needed; I mentioned to the lady to give me a moment to make a decision; I than finished ordering what I wanted, the lady responded 5 seconds later to say "was that all today?" I quickly replied "no sorry" I than went on to asking her what storm ice creams they had I heard a slight inhale of breath, as it was clearly such a mission for her to read out the 3 choices...
As I was about to make my decision only a few seconds after she replied, she again said "was that all tonight?" Before I even got to reply she instantly said "drive onto the next window"
As I was blown away from the already not great service, I pull up to the window, the first thing she said is "that will be 'etc $$'. I replied "Sorry I wasn't actually finished ordering"
She let's off a big 'sigh' (exhale) like we were the only customers in the drive-through and we were clearly such a pain in the a** As customers. I took a moment to register what she just did and held in my temper as my partner doesn't like conflict. I replied I would like 2 storms. She goes onto saying "that'll be etc $$" I paid the lady and went to the second window and was given our food 5 minutes later.
I work in hospitality and infact a store manger myself, so I know what's to be expected from my staff members and their customer service towards customers; the service given by this lady was rude, rushed and impolite; and quite frankly appalling!
I don't normally leave reviews bit when service from a restaurant is that terrible or in some cases that outstanding sometime reviews are well needed or deserved.
I feel the staff member or multiple staff members if other are similar need to be retrained on how to serve customers; and how to be patient with customers.
Thus is the closest hungry Jack's to us, but I feel I would rather drive an extra 10 minutes to a different one if it means getting decent unrushed service.
Very disappointed....
Read moreIf one were to embark upon the gastronomical expedition of a lifetime, replete with toasted sandwiches of such delectable constitution that even the most stoic of marsupials would abandon eucalyptus fidelity in favour of molten cheese divinity, then Hungry Jack’s Helensvale is veritably the epicentre of such culinary nirvana.
Upon entering this establishment, one is greeted not merely by youthful staff, but by a veritable battalion of enthusiastic gastronomic gladiators—smiling, attentive, and armed with the patience of saints, despite the cacophony of orders and the existential crisis of milkshake machines. Their ability to multitask amidst the chaos is nothing short of Herculean, and I dare say many Fortune 500 companies could learn a thing or two about customer service resilience from this merry crew of burger artisans.
Now, to the pièce de résistance: the toasted sandwiches. Imagine, if you will, bread toasted to a state of golden transcendence, the exterior crispier than a philosopher’s wit, the interior so buttery-soft that it might cause Shakespeare himself to put down his quill in awe. The cheese—oh, the cheese—melts with such slow-motion majesty that time itself seems to pause, allowing one to contemplate life’s greater mysteries, such as “Why haven’t I eaten three more of these already?” Truly, these sandwiches are so ambrosial that a koala, traditionally eucalyptus-bound and not known for its adventurous palate, might very well surrender its leafy diet for just a single bite.
In summation, Hungry Jack’s Helensvale is not merely a fast-food outlet. It is a cathedral of comfort, a temple of toasty triumph, and a beacon of hope for anyone who has ever despaired at the culinary desert of ordinary sandwiches. Five stars, without hesitation, with bonus celestial constellations thrown in for...
Read moreTerrible experience as a delivery driver (Uber Eats)!
I want to share the humiliation I suffered at this restaurant as an Uber Eats driver. I arrived with my usual positive attitude and smile — even though I don’t speak English fluently, I always try to be kind and respectful.
But the staff here were incredibly rude. One of the employees came outside and snatched the bag from my hand aggressively, as if I was stealing or taking the wrong item — even though they were the ones who gave it to me! I followed inside to clarify, and they handed me another bag, but the entire time they spoke arrogantly, laughed, and treated me with complete disrespect. Even the supervisor had an arrogant attitude.
What was most frustrating was feeling helpless because I couldn’t fully respond or defend myself due to the language barrier. I ended up saying just “thank you” and leaving, but with a heavy heart, knowing they might rate me poorly even though I did nothing wrong.
I came from Brazil to work hard and support myself — not to face humiliation and discrimination like this.
I sincerely hope the management or owner of this place sees this review and takes action. Please check your cameras, review how your staff treat delivery drivers, and remember: without us, you wouldn’t get your food to customers.
Respect goes both ways....
