Jamaica Blue Robina — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I ordered a toasty off the Kid's Menu along with a couple of iced coffees to take-away. The charge didn't add up to what I had chosen off the menu. When I questioned it, I was told that I couldn't have a toasty from the Kid's Menu because they were for under 12's only.

I asked where the toasty for Adults/Adults prices was listed on the menu. 'Oh... it's not listed on the menu... we can't put everything on the menu' at the same time pointing to all the products in the display case that were all clearly price marked.

I said I was taking the toasty away for a child (partially true, as I was sharing it with my grandson) - I just didn't want anything large. I was told no, I couldn't take away a child's toasty because I am not under 12 years.

I waited for the order, and when the large box came out, I said again that I wasn't wanting to order anything so big. I then asked if they provide Senior's Discount, and was told, 'yes... but it is too late to give it to you.'

This from the owner apparently - as she proudly declared. Where did she think I got the toasty off the menu - it's only listed in one place, at one price? How hard would it be to say, I take it you want an Adult toasty.... it is an extra $3 than that listed under the Kids menu?

Maybe at that point (because it's pretty obvious) she could have offered me the Seniors Discount. Wouldn't my experience have been very different!

I understand business is hard, but I am sorry... this owner is only making it harder for herself. It wasn't just what she said, it was the narkiness with which it was said.

I took the toasty away to the nearby hall where I was with a group rehearsing for a show. Numbers of people could see that I was upset, and they all heard about the Robina Jamaica Blue..... what value that owner got from her $3!.

Ordered an ice coffee, when it came to the table we explained to the waitress that it was warm (room temperature) It was clearly made with milk that had been sitting on the bench. When the waitress took it back to the kitchen we heard the staff member say that it is not meant to have ice in it. Understandably, however it should of at least been cold. When the drink was brought back to the table it had a handful of ice in it and the cream from the top just scooped off. Very disappointing as these drinks are not cheap. Very disappointing...
