One of the highlights of our trip to GC! We read the great reviews about this place and decided to try it. And we were certainly not disappointed by our experience. They don't take bookings, and when we arrived around 7pm, there was already a couple of big groups waiting. The host offered for us a table for drinks and entrees while we waited for a seat at the teppanyaki table, which was very welcomed. After a short wait, we were seated and was immediately entertained by the 2 chefs running the show. Both chefs were super friendly, and interacted with all the guests with egg throwing, bowl throwing and even song and dance! We were thoroughly entertained by them, and when it came to the food, it was fresh delicious. All in all, we had a wonderful time and we look forward to eating there again the next time we areo in town 👍

We went there right after the Yacht Tour in Runaway Bay. Only our family was there for lunch and the chef 👨‍🍳 Yoshi made the amazing memory for my family. He was fun and positive, full of energy! We orderd; -Matsuzaka combo: prawn was very fresh > chicken with sauce is great > beef is also good -Kangaroo: we were very curios and this was first time of this meat. Not thing weird and similar taste with beef. -Udon: that was my mistake,, it was stir-fried udon, not with soup,, anyhow this taste was not meeting my daugther's expectation. Yoshi's show was excellent and Fried rice was great! Finally he gave a special gift 🎁 to my daugther with Pochako which is one of characters of Sinamonrol. His salt drawing looks very similar with her doll. Big thanks to Yoshi! 😊

It was fun and interesting experience. The chef who was in charge of my table was not Japanese, but he showed a great fire show with various techniques and made delicious iron grill dishes. Especially, beef tasted good. Overall, it was a great teppanyaki, but considering the quality of the ingredients, it was difficult to say that the best ingredients were used. But of course it still tasted good enough. It is a restaurant that I would like to give 6 stars if the level of ingredients is a little higher. There is water/canal in front of the restaurant, so the scenery is good and there are enough places to park on the side of the road.

We were regulars at this restaurant for years! It’s been a while since our last visit however due to having a baby. The new management changes aren’t the greatest… there was no flexibility at all with the kids meals drink options, my kids got a soft drink then ordered a kids meal only to be told sorry, juice only for kids meal and offered to bring out a juice on top of their soft drink. Ridiculou. seriously juice costs more than post mix, and for $25 a kids meal!!! Absolutely ridiculous. I work in hospitality and it would have been no trouble to say no worries, that will be the drink they were supposed to receive for their kids meal. Second, I ordered a margarita at first, waitress hadn’t left our table then I explicitly canceled the cocktail and ordered a soporro beer in place of the Margarita. BOTH drinks came out. They did offer to take the margarita back however the cocktail was made. Clearly the staff weren’t listening or communicating well that evening. Second the menu changes.. terrible. The Aqua deluxe we previously used to order has been changed to include squid and barramundi over bugs. I didn’t eat either of the new items, however my husband still wanted to order the aqua deluxe. The scallops weren’t the freshest, and the eye fillet steak was not the same quality as we used to receive. You also have to pay extra for fried rice now.. ridiculous. Over all the entire meal was over $600. We have never paid that amount of money for a dinner there ever. Unfortunately we won’t be returning. The minor details all added up to make for a very deflating experience. I hope the restaurant can return to its previous amazing service and food produce. The chefs are always amazing though! We have never had a bad chef, and chef Gavin always makes the time in the restaurant great! As well as really goes above and beyond to interact with us and our kids which we do appreciate greatly. It’s unfortunate that the other small details just added up to make a...

The teppanyaki food, the teppanyaki show, the chef and the waitresses who served us have all been great for a Mother's Day dinner on Sunday. However, it was a terrible dinning experience at the end!!

What happened? We were informed by the MANAGER seven minutes before 7pm that our table was needed for other customers' booking at 7pm and if we were not able to finish our food by 7pm, they could take our food outside the restaurant to let us continue at the waiting area. We were very shocked at the time, because this time-limit was not previously advised on their website, nor throughout the reservation process. We were not informed this either when entering the restaurant, but only 7 minutes before our time is up!

The manager then insisted there had always been an 1.5 hour dinner time limit and it's even only 1 hour today because it's Mother's Day. The only way/place he could find this time-limit was by showing us his restaurant's reservation system on an iPad. How do you expect a customer to know this? He also said although he could not provide any proof the time-limit was informed to us by any means in advance, "It's my restaurant" and we should be aware of this when coming again next time. What kind of customer will ever want to return again after such experience?!

Thanks for letting us had a delicious but terrible...

We choose this restaurant based on great reviews. Unfortunately it didn't stack up. Apart from Chef who was very entertaining, the fried rice and the Saporro beer the rest of the food was tasteless, totally lacking flavour. It's like the grill plate isn't hot enough therefore the food doesn't cook hot and flavour doesn't develop. The scallops were tasteless chewy Chinese scallops. The Salmon was over cooked. The veges were soggy on the plate. We couldn't taste any garlic or salt on anything. We have been to many Tapanyaki Restaurants around the world and this one I wouldn't rush back too. With a real Tapanyaki Restaurant they dont cook all the food at once and put it on a cold plate to go cold in a couple of minutes. They cook the food in sequence putting the various courses on your plate as the night progresses not all at once. The couple down the end of our table didn't look very impressed with their steak meal either. They arrived after us and were gone b4 us and we were only there 1.25 hours. Best reviews are...
