We had high expectations and we were excited by a nice date night out during our holiday. Unfortunately we walked out very disappointed in the food and service. The restaurant itself is beautiful with views that would be amazing during the day. The warm marinated olives were the first to arrive and they were so incredibly salty they were inedible. We ate the few that were underneath to avoid the salt as much as possible but they were not enjoyable. We ordered the 1/2 shell scallops and the Mooloolaba prawns for entree’s. The scallops were very nice but the prawns tasted like the prawns we peeled ourselves on Christmas Day. The sauce they came with was tasteless. I couldn’t even tell you what the sauce was supposed to be. For mains we had the handmade lobster pasta which was nice and the dry aged steak with fries which was nice but not the best. We also ordered a salad to go with the steak that we tried to cancel before the entree and were told it was already made. This was concerning since the main meal didn’t come out until 35 mins later. The waiter was not helpful in any way and came across like a stereotypical used car salesman. Absolutely not the fine dining service we have come to expect. By this point we were just disappointed in general and stopped ordering the wine and refused dessert. This was an incredibly disappointing experience on what was supposed to be our first child free dinner date in a long time. I could not recommend this restaurant for the prices they charge and the service...
Read moreWhile the decor and service were commendable, I must express my disappointment regarding certain aspects of the dining experience.
Firstly, I found the pricing to be considerably high, especially when considering the portion sizes. The servings of steak were notably small, leaving much to be desired in terms of value for money. Additionally, the wait time for food was longer than expected, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
While the food itself was enjoyable and well-prepared, I couldn't help but compare it to other local establishments offering similar cuisine at a fraction of the price. Despite its palatability, I have encountered tastier options elsewhere within the vicinity.
Furthermore, I found the cocktail menu to be somewhat obscure, lacking in diversity and appeal. While the classics were executed well, the overall selection left much to be desired.
While Pipis Restaurant noticably aims to cater to a wealthier clientele, I believe they just missed the mark. With some adjustments to pricing, portion sizes, and menu offerings, Pipis has the potential to...
Read moreOne star is being generous for my review of this so called restaurant. It was overpriced and the food could only be described as of poor quality at best. The, what I can assume was so supposed to be steak, was woeful and priced at nearly $100, I would’ve expected far superior quality. It was simply stringy, tough and rough. I found that there was nothing really good about this restaurant, unless you’re dinning somewhere that has unparalleled views of the coast, but this doesn’t make for a decent fed, and even then you would need to be sat in a high chair to make the beautiful and picturesque scenery worth while in over coming and diverting your attention away from the horrific experience of the food (obviously being the primary purpose of this establishment). If I’m being brutally honest, I wouldn’t have feed my dog the steak I was subjected to, I mean it would be considered animal cruelty in my book. There are far better quality restaurants out there that are a lot more competitive and don’t just charge for the privilege...
