Sen Lek Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I’ve taken along so many of my friends and recommended this place to several people as I have been a regular here. Lately it’s been a downhill with everything. The quantity in the orders have reduced. No adequate packaging is now given with lunch specials to carry the hot containers. Everything can be brushed off if you like the food and the people serving it. But today was the last straw. Went in during my lunch break and took a bag along for them to put the order in. Was told it’ll be ready in 15-20 minutes. Paid on card with a surcharge. Waited the duration of my whole lunch break at the counter and after requesting for the order to be handed over, was told to wait another 10-15 minutes. Didn’t have that kind of time to wait more so was told to cancel and take a refund. So the prep for the order had not even begun. Needed the refund on my card coz that’s how I paid and was not even given that. Was told I could be handed over cash or could come back after 2-3 days if I needed the refund on my card. I was so amazed that even as a regular that’s how little courtesy I was shown. Was not handed my lunch after waiting my whole lunch break, was not returned the bag I handed over for my order and was literally expected to leave without my refund if I didn’t want cash. That’s...

I placed an online order to be picked up at 7.05pm. I selected the time option on the ordering page, however I received an SMS saying my order was ready at 6.49pm. I arrived to pick up my order at 7.05pm, the food had been left on the counter for 15 mins, not under a heat lamp. Food was semi cold, not piping hot if it was prepared for pick up time. Staff did not seem to take my request seriously at first, however when I told them how disappointed I was that my orde had been left for 15mins when I had specifically requested a 7.05pm pick up time, they offered to make me another while I waited however would take another 10mins. That would be fine if I was not on a limited dinner break from work, hence why I requested it to be ready at 7.05pm. Update: Went back a second time and everything was awesome! The larb, pad see ew, satay chicken and papaya salad, all delicious! The lady went out of her way to get hot tea for my mother even though they don't have it on their menu, the iced coffee and teas are all super good as well!

2 weeks ago: Delicious! The pad see ew was authentic with that hint of smoky char flavor, the satay chicken and the iced teas were also very good. Green curry was tasty too, but next time I'll definitely order the hot as the medium wasn't spicy enough, it was too mild for me. I was being cautious because our favorite local Thai place in the States had a heat rating of 1-5 and number 3 was already too hot for me. Service was super friendly. Food came out quick and fresh.
