Change of owners comes with false advertising and rude service apparently.

Breakfast burger deal with coffee $14.50 advertised on main tv screen at front counter is no longer available, it’s an “old deal”

Which has been advertised since the new owners took over.

The tv needs to be turned off and the signs taken down if the deal is no longer available because it’s false advertising. Consumer law in Australia means the advertised price must be honoured. When I questioned the lady serving me why they still are advertising something and not honouring it, I was told it’s old and the advertised price wouldn’t be honoured.

The same lady that took my order brought my coffee to me at my table, looked at my pregnant belly and said “you can’t have this it’s not decaf…” Not that I need to explain myself but hopefully this will help someone in the future working in customer service 200mg of caffeine a day is perfectly safe during pregnancy which the one Mocha I ordered isn’t even the equivalent to the daily 200mg caffeine guidelines. What isn’t acceptable was pulling a face when I asked for the egg on my roll to be cooked well done because raw runny yolk is definitely not safe during pregnancy.

We have been here many times and every time we come we are delighted with the food and service. The location being at the entrance of Australia Fair l( Scarborough St) is so convenient. All the front staff are happy, helpful and have a cruisy vibe yet are super efficient. John has a beautiful nature and always makes you feel special. There is beautiful cafe food for quick on the go snacks, however why I am writing this review is due to the very high quality cooked meals which are excellent portions, cooked and presented beautifully and the prices are very reasonable. PS As I was writing this, I witnessed Rhys saying a very sweet and personal goodbye to a elderly couple ( calling them by names) who are regulars and said they’d be back….. it’s the little extras that count! Long time customer the coffee and food is delicious here however the new black haired asian girl needs to work on her customer service… All the other employees are fantastic and super friendly always say hello and treat us so well ! However this girl can’t even say hello, acts like she’s been working there forever and has some serious anger issues, she got noticeably angry when my wife asked her for a particular dessert.

It’s sad to see this kind of behaviour in a customer facing environment, someone should really look at her future employment in this place. Please bring back the old staff and warm environment. Unfortunately the place is 5 star however need to give a 1 star simply because of this one particular girl…
