Attended in the PM of 13/09/2023. There was Howler Head merchandise hanging up all over the wall. I walked up to the bar and asked how I could get a shirt. I was advised I have to buy a shot and enter a raffle. I bought the shot (for this sole purpose) and was given the raffle ticket.
I opened the ticket and I had won a shirt. I went to the Duty Manager and told him I had a ticket for a shirt I had won. He said "no, this was last Sunday". Slightly puzzled, I said "you have merchandise/advertisements hanging all over the wall and your staff just gave me a ticket and made me buy the shot. He continued to decline, then stormed out the back and got a hat, threw it on the counter and said, "take it, or leave it." I said "if you cannot give me the merch I won then why are you giving me a hat and why are you still advertising and selling the product" he had no answer for this.
After what was already a bitter experience, I said I would take the hat, but why was I getting a hat when I won a shirt (there were 3 hanging on the wall), he said "we have none left "I said "there are three hanging on your wall." In which he began to get flustered and walked over and started taking them off the wall and stashing them in a back room. Even the other staff were watching this in bemusement. I looked at the bar guy who sold me the shot, he just put his head down. Security sheepishly said, "just leave it man".
He did not have to take such an incendiary approach to such a simple matter, he could have remained professional, maintained a positive customer service relationship and resolved/taken responsibility for what was a very clear venue mistake. This will probably come with a bit more experience in the industry.
Also, the online QR menu was not working or showing a drink menu, only potato chips which we had already put $50 into the account on, so we had to retrieve the money from the account and walk to the bar, odd. First time back in years, but it is a one star...
Read moreI was there for a glass of wine with my boyfriend a few days ago. The lookout from the balcony is fun, you can see the street below which is always very lively, which is why we chose the spot. The first thing I noticed walking up the stairs was a dead cockroach, which wasn't ideal but it was dead and I understand this is Australia and the climate is warm. However, while my boyfriend got the drinks I sat outside on the balcony and I noticed another customer jumping up and down trying to step on another cockroach. Within about 5 minutes I probably saw ten of them. At this point, my boyfriend had already purchased drinks so we decided to move to another part of the balcony where we sat for a while. After sitting for about 30 minutes the lady next to me screamed and started pointing at my back- a cockroach had climbed up the bar stool and was crawling on my back. We left after that. I did mention it to the staff and she was polite and apologetic however the main reason I am posting here is to just emphasize that it is probably time for another pest control. I did not get food, but I would be very very concerned about eating here if there are that many very confident...
Read moreChicken Parmi ($29): It’s served with chips and a salad. This might be the best chicken schnitzel I’ve ever had. The coatings are extremely crunchy and the chicken is fresh and tender. The tomato sauce, cheese, and ham do a lot of tricks to the schnitzels. The chips are also delicious, well seasoned, and not greasy.
Besides, non-alcoholic drinks cost from $3 to $5.6, Lemon, Lime & Bitters $5.8, Red Bull $8.3 (smallest size).
The entrance to the restaurant is right next to the gate to shopping centre and you can easily come here by the light rail and get off at Cavill Avenue.
The security will tell you to show your ID before entering the pub. The bartender is quite nice and he’ll give you a pager to collect your food at the pick up section. There are a lot of TVs playing sports matches and I like the music played and how spacious it is compared to other restaurants. You scan the QR code to see the menu and a lot of dishes and drinks are customisable. Overall, superb food, relaxing vibes, great staff and security, a...
