New chef and a lot of training/consistency needed. Group of 13 on Monday 7th October at lunch. The atmosphere and design was beautiful.
We were the only food order at the time and the orders were done through the app.
The first issue was the coffee machine playing up then, drink order that was taken by the waitress was wrong.
The food was the worst. 3 of our table ordered the same burger and only one came* with all the toppings whilst the other 2 were missing the fried onion. There was no consistency in the making of the same burger.
Another person ordered grilled chicken with their bowl and was handed crispy chicken.
I myself ordered a medium steak, which given I was a pre surgery diet, was the only meal I was allowed for the day. When my steak came out there was a med rare stick in it and when we cut it open it was rare (border line blue).
The frustration point for us was that the servers would question our pointing out errors saying that is what we ordered and each time we showed our receipt showing we had placed our orders correctly. The difficulty in the accountability until the fifth issue raised when they finally said "there is a new chef in the kitchen".
When my steak was recooked it was I believed cooked alright but it was so tough that I couldn't get through 2 bites before my jaw hurt, additionally so much pepper i could barely taste* the steak or mushroom sauce. This was so horrible for me as it was the only meal I was allowed to eat and I forfeited it to my partner as for a $50 steak, it was such low quality.
Overall I was extremely disappointed and with the reviews this restaurant had I wished our experience was better. The food was presented well but the taste and quality weren't there.
I hope there is further training provided so no one else would have an experience like this.
I also didn't see any lifts, just the stairs, I don't think this location is wheelchair or disability...
Read more“The Sporting Globe x 4 Pines Surfers Paradise is the perfect mix of great food, drinks, and atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s built for sports fans – huge screens everywhere, private booths with their own TVs, and plenty of space to relax with friends. Whether it’s the footy, cricket, UFC, or any big event, you won’t miss a second of the action.
The drinks list is a standout. 4 Pines craft beers on tap are always fresh and cold, and there’s a great range of cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic options. It’s just as good for a casual drink as it is for a full night out.
The food is fantastic – big portions, full of flavour, and plenty of variety. The wings are a must-try (crispy and full of sauce), the burgers are packed and juicy, and there are healthy options and share plates if you want something lighter. Everything comes out fresh and well presented, even when the place is busy.
The staff are friendly, welcoming, and on top of things – drinks are topped up quickly, food comes out fast, and they’re always happy to recommend something new. The whole venue is clean and well organised, and the vibe is lively but still family-friendly earlier in the day.
The location is spot on – right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, easy to get to, and perfect for a pre-game meal, a night with mates, or just watching the big screen with a cold beer. Definitely one of the best spots on the Coast for sport lovers or anyone looking for a...
Read moreTried this place out for the first time on Friday evening and unfortunately it didn't meet our expectations.
Very poor selection of tap beers most of which are 'fruity'. The only 2 mainstream beers (Great Northern and XXXX) are only mid-strength. The prices at $11+ for just a schooner are too high when it's not happy hour.
The advertised 50 plus TVs were mostly very small and located at individual seating areas. The main larger TVs were not very impressive either. Not that big plus poor picture quality.
Sitting outside wasn't great, there was sound coming from some event inside, music being played outside and a third lot of music coming from a street performer, (which I understand is out of their control) which meant a barrage of 3 lots of amplified music at an equal level which as you can imagine became annoying very quickly.
Lastly, for a venue that holds a (few hundred?) people, the smoking area tucked away in the corner is only around 6m² and holds only a few people comfortably.
The only positives I could find is that the entry is now in a better position than its predecessor and looks inviting and happy hour beers at $6 is a great promo, just a shame none of them taste great. The views are great from the balcony too.
Our group of 3 won't be back in a hurry...
