If you want to be called “white trash” by their waitress then this is the place for you. HOW DARE THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS IN THIS WAY. I have never been so disrespected and insulted in my own country at a resultant, or ever, in my entire life. As Surfers Paradise local residents we have been going to this restaurant to support local trade for years - even before they moved to their current location. We had a booking for 5:30pm on New Years Eve. We arrived and was told to sit outside as the inside tables had bookings - so did we. The restaurant was not even half full. We had BYO and asked for wine glasses - came out with ice in them. We got replacement glasses and ordered another glass of wine. We received that glass and then got a phone call from the restaurant to see where we were - we were already seated with our drinks!! After asking 2 times to take our order we were finally served. No cutlery, plates, napkins or water, as we are usually served. We ordered 3 meals and an entree. After asking for plates, cutlery and napkins the waitress dumped them on the end of the table and walked off in a huff. One meal came out - sticky noodles and cold. We then asked where the entree and other meals were. Eventually the entree and another meal came out. We were then asked if we were waiting for anything else - of course we were - don’t they know we had another meal coming? The waitress was touching me and I pulled away as I felt uncomfortable. We were told the kitchen was busy - half the restaurant was empty and the Uber eats/take away was very busy. They seem to concentrate on their takeaway delivery more than they’re customers. The food that we received was disgusting. We were told when we booked that we had to leave within 1 hour. After 1 hour and still not receiving our third meal we had other plans and had to cancel the third order. This is when we were called “white trash” by the waitress. This is totally unacceptable and uncalled for. The restaurant was half empty - there were 4 tables inside the whole time we were there that were vacant and so were the outside tables. This is discrimination and offensive behaviour by the waitress. DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT - bad food and extremely bad...
Read moreMy friend has a deathly peanut allergy and specifically asked for no peanuts and triple checked that they would not put them on any of our dishes (he turned the screen to show us the order, she said 'no peanuts' for the fourth time and pointed at the dish he had left the peanuts on, he said 'yes i know i will tell the kitchen'). They then put peanuts on the other dish but not hers and put them in the same bag. She said multiple times no peanuts so we went and told the staff and the boy who served her argued and claimed that we did not say no peanuts on all the dishes. He then proceeded to argue even after we said she couldn't even be near peanuts without the chance of a deathly reaction. When we asked for his name he lied and said it was Oliver while him and his friend just stood there laughing, with no care for customer service, even when we said we would leave bad reviews he was still laughing. Since he wouldn't give his correct name here is a description; dark skinned, thai, young and short, multiple piercings in each ear. Mistakes are inevitable, it's the issue of not admitting to them especially when they can have serious consequences. On another note, pad Thai was below average. Noodles were stuck together, it was cold because they cooked suited to their time instead of there customers (we asked to have it ready in 30 minutes, he said no we have can only have it ready in 10-15 minutes even though it was only 6.30pm at the time and they had no other customers), noodles and prawns were flavourless and large chunks of onion. EDIT: We rang the store and the manager (Andre) was very polite and said he would deal with the issue, and the boy working. He offered us new food and said that if he was working in the store at the time he would have happily made us a new meal...
Read moreI am writing this in hopes that this feedback gets passed on to the owner, manager and chefs. I love this supporting this Thai restaurant so much that I often have to get takeaway once a week. Lately, i’m quite dissatisfied and disappointed by a lack of service available. On many occasions I’ve made several attempts to contact the restaurant via phone or online for pickup during the opening hours as shown on Google. And the Pad Thai used to be the absolute best in Surfers, rich with flavour and served with vegetables. The last two times I have ordered a Pad Thai with Tofu and Vegetables (as I am vegetarian) have been not enjoyable and very plain tasting. I have expected the dish to have the adequate amount of vegetables included in the dish as I have received countless times in the past. I’m not too sure what has gone on, but the Pad Thai is certainly not the same as it used to be 3-6 months ago. All that I wish is that this restaurant can be readily available for when I would love to enjoy their food, and would love it to be back to the standard I was familiar with in the past. I would love to continue supporting this local business, but I believe what I’ve addressed here must be implemented before I become a returning and regular customer again. It saddens me because compared to all other Thai restaurants in Surfers Paradise, I think this one is the best in regard to food, service and staff members. It’s just the fact that I do expect consistency from a restaurant that I tend to visit frequently...
