My first impressions of Tap and Grind were favourable. Clean, airy, staff smiling, plenty of different spots to sit whether you were with people or on your own. The menu is not huge but by the time you add the all day breakfast menu, the specials from the special board, a daily hot soup and items from the cabinet, there is plenty on offer. We settled on the chilli scrambled eggs on sourdough and a falafel bowl. The photos included show the meals and they looked very nice. The sourdough was not sourdough although I am sure it is sold as such but there was no integrity to the bread whatsoever and little taste. It was also not cooked adequately and was way too thick so that it overpowered the eggs. But hey, each to their own and there are worse things in the world. It was easy to overcome. The falafels were dry but had a beautiful crunch to give some flavour and texture. Overall pretty good. The staff though made the place as they were a happy bunch and that really makes you feel good about a place. Would not hesitate to return and try...
Read moreI believe in redemption and man, this is redemption. I revisited Tap and Grind and ordered The Grinder, a big brekky. Best ever!! I love my big brekky's and this one was phat! The shrooms were cooked in a spice and oile mix that really popped the flavour. I didn't mind that the hash browns were 3/4 size, just wondering what happens to the other 1/4 ha ha! It came with the one of two foods I could eat every day forever....Baked Beans, I am a simple man. The other food is Cheesecake.....hmmmmm.....Baked Bean Cheesecake?.....Naah!!! Anyway, back on theme, this was a big brekkie, luckily, I have a big tummy! Coffee was top knotch. Perfect 😍
I have left the older photo so a comparison can be made.
My older review below...now defunct!
Are you kidding me? $18.50 for two eggs in a hanky? You know what would have made this look a little less sparse? Some rocket, baby spinach, cherry toms and Feta. The bread was very nice and toasted well. The eggs....were eggs. The Avo...
Read moreI had such a wonderful experience at Tap and Grind Cafe! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed — the kind of place that instantly feels like a local favorite.
The service was absolutely lovely. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Special shoutout to Lani, who truly made my visit memorable. She was warm, professional, and had that perfect mix of attentiveness without being overbearing. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her positive energy added so much to the overall vibe.
The coffee was excellent, and the food came out quickly and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s care behind everything they do here.
