This restaurant is tapas style dining by design, where you order many items and share. None of the meals felt complete solo so I'd recommend coming with a group so you can try more of the menu. The food and service we received was exceptional! We came in with a large group and felt very accommodated. Particularly during a busy period and during school holidays. We ordered almost every item on the menu; notable dishes were the Kingfish Carpaccio, Beef Tataki, Pork Belly Bites, Prawn Dumplings, and the Striploin Crying Tiger. The tables are very small but the staff managed this well by staggering our meals. I appreciate the blend of many Asian cuisines as the menu has lots of my favourite dishes and drinks. Dumplings and Bao buns are always popular. The food feels high end and is reflected in the price which I felt was acceptable.

On a recent visit to Coolangatta while visiting Butterbeats record store, I Google search for great places to eat in Coolangatta, the house of bamboo came up in the top five, as I really like Asian flavors we decided to visit From the moment we stepped in, we greeted with friendly professional staff, ambience, and atmosphere was top-notch, we attended at lunchtime, one of the owners greeted us, he made some suggestions from the lighter side of the menu, what can I say? This place is on point. Couldn’t give any more stars if I tried I understand later in the evenings, they have live entertainment, and DJs, looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Incredible food and atmosphere. The guys were so welcoming when we came in with a baby in a pram! The flavours were amazing with Asian fusion throughout. We shared lots of small plates (burrata, duck bao, miso eggplant, chicken skewers, tuna) which were incredible. Can’t wait to come back with more people to try some of the larger plates! Well done guys!

House of Bamboo is an absolute standout — from the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sweeps you away. The thoughtful attention to detail creates the perfect setting for a laid-back yet elevated dining experience. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can feel the love and care in every interaction — and that energy flows directly from the amazing owners, who have clearly poured their heart and soul into this space. The food is next-level. The chefs at House of Bamboo are truly talented — every dish is vibrant, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavour. You can tell there's serious skill in the kitchen, with creative combinations and quality ingredients that make each bite memorable. The cocktail journey is something else. It’s more than just a drinks list — it’s a carefully curated experience. Each cocktail tells a story, and whether you're after something refreshing, bold, or totally unique, the bar team delivers every time. With its incredible atmosphere, dedicated team, exceptional chefs, and thoughtful owners, House of Bamboo is the full package. A must-visit in Cooly — already counting down to...

The House of Bamboo is hands down one of the best new spots in Coolangatta. From the moment you walk in, the neon-lit atmosphere sets the tone — vibrant, modern, and full of energy.

The food is incredible: bold Asian fusion flavours with a creative twist that’s perfect for sharing. The cocktails are just as impressive — expertly crafted and easily some of the best I’ve had on the Gold Coast.

What really makes this place special is the experience: upstairs street level is perfect for dinner and drinks with friends, and then you head downstairs to the basement bar where the DJs keep the vibe going late into the night.

It’s the perfect mix of great food, amazing drinks, and unforgettable atmosphere. Highly recommend for a night out, special occasion, or just when you want to try something...
