Wonderful staff, great food and excellent value for money. Very few places give such good service as 'Chillies' gave us. We ordered drinks and entrees only to start with because my biggest hate is when the main course arrives whilst you're still eating your starters. We needn't have worried because we weren't rushed at all so ordered mains. We were given time to actually eat some of our food before the lovely young lady came over to ask how everything was. It was delicious and very generous portion sizes. Very often, you have barely got fork to mouth before you are asked 'how everything is'. Another pet hate of mine. They didn't just bring out our main courses either, they asked if we were ready for them or wanted to wait a while. I only ate half my meal because I was so full, this was because I kept eating my husbands Chicken Saag which was the best I've ever had. That and the huge entree. When we went up to pay, the owner came out to ask if everything was OK because I'd left quite a lot of my meal. We explained again the reason for this but she was genuinely concerned that something was wrong and asked for feedback. This is a rarity these days. Bit of a long winded review but such lovely, friendly people serving delicious food, they truly deserve...
Read moreThis small family-owned Indian/Nepali restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Hobart. The food is absolutely to die for!! Every dish bursts with authentic flavours and is cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is just as beautiful, offering a peaceful and calm setting that makes it easy to relax and enjoy your meal.
The service is phenomenal. The waitress at the front, who is the daughter of the family, is always so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely remembers returning customers, making you feel right at home. She’s also a wonderful conversationalist, adding to the warm and inviting vibe of the place.
The chef is fantastic, not only incredibly talented but also very accommodating, always checking to make sure you’re happy with your meal and willing to cater to your needs.
Everyone needs to try the goat curry!! It’s one of my absolute favourites. The meat falls right off the bone and is packed with flavour. You won’t find anything like it anywhere else!
Genuinely one of the best food spots in Hobart. If you’re looking for authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine served with heart, this is the place to go. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning...
Read moreHello everyone, I would like to apologise for the late review of this place. My first lunch of New Year’s Day was completely ruined at this place. I ordered Indian curry, biryani etc I am sure anyone with hand can make better food, the meat was dry and tasteless. Biryani tasted like soap and tikka tasted like trash. I immediately called the waitress and informed about the disgusting food they put on the table. Her reaction was so lame that I was embarrassed of complaining to her. She couldn’t even apologise, unless they change their chef, this restaurant is very close to loss all its customers. Unhealthy, unhygienic, tasteless food and to top it off zero professionalism. I wanted to give it negative stars but google does not have that option. Please note: it is the perception of what I want to call it. For me midday meal “lunch” can be in the evening if I had not eaten anything throughout the day. Chillies is the worst restaurant ever and by the way I have kept the receipt with me because I was thinking your food might give me food poisoning. So I would have sued you for...
