Our family has been regulars at Vina Yummy Kitchen in Sandy Bay for over ten years, and let me tell you, this place never disappoints. The food is always amazing, and the vibe is super warm and friendly. Xuan, the owner, is just awesome—she always greets everyone with a big smile and makes you feel right at home.
The menu is a fantastic mix of Vietnamese dishes. Some of our go-to favorites are the roast duck noodle, wonton noodle soup, Vietnamese pork rice, and the dim sim stick. The Vietnamese fried rice is seasoned to perfection, the laksa noodle soup is spicy and creamy, and the spring rolls are crispy and packed with flavor. The banh mi with crispy baguette and crackling pork is a must-try, and the Vietnamese coffee is spot-on. My daughter loves the lychee bubble tea—it’s super refreshing and fun with the tapioca pearls.
I’m sorry I don’t have any pictures of the food to show. I’ll try not to forget to take photos next time, but it all disappears so fast before we can get a shot.
Eating at Vina Yummy Kitchen is like visiting a friend's cozy home. The atmosphere is inviting, and Xuan's personal touch makes every meal special. It's not just about the food—it’s about the sense of community and the joy of sharing a meal with loved ones.
If you’re ever in Sandy Bay and want great food and a welcoming place, Vina Yummy Kitchen is the spot. After more than a decade of dining here, I can honestly say it’s a real gem, all thanks to Xuan’s dedication and her...
Read moreExquisite doesn’t even cut it. This is the best Vietnamese food I can ever recall eating. You can taste the love and work that has gone into crafting every tiny morsel. The place is family run and everyone was expert in their roles. The owner’s daughter seated us and picked up on every little nuance from the minute we stepped inside, seeing I had two children with me and pointing out the table she had designated but saying we could choose wherever suited us - as a parent this meant so much. Often we know what our kids need to get through a meal and choice is hugely beneficial.
The pacing of everything was brilliant, from giving us the menus to taking the drinks and meal order at exactly the right time - it was as though she was psychic!
When the meals came out, we couldn’t believe how good the flavours were. My daughter declared it the best wonton soup ever, and I had the laksa which was so delicately balanced. 11/10 recommend!
Also a huge shout out for the bubble tea which they make on site from scratch. It was so evident that it was crafted by hand as opposed to bulk bought.
Will absolutely be back next time...
Read morePoor customer service: it’s easily seen that Asian customers need to self-serve while white customers will be treated with friendly greetings and table service. We and other Asian customers need to get the water ourselves, while white customers get immediate water as well as greetings as soon as they come in and after they’re sitting at the table (I still dont get served water after they get water, even though I’m sitting just next to and maybe because they’re regular customers/reserved-table customers so they get different service?).
The soup is overpowered by the Hoisin Sauce (for Beef Noodles Soup) and Shrimp Paste (for Spicy Beef Noodles Soup), which make the signature flavour of the soup taste bland, we can’t taste the beef bone sweetness as well as the hint of lemongrass. There was even a slice of chicken in Beef Noodles Soup (?) the Spicy one was still considered okay but the Beef Noodles Soup is pretty strange and taste not like one.
Unwelcoming atmosphere.
Expensive price for the...
