I admit, I got sucked in by their Insta page. It's bright and inviting. I was shocked at the lack of atmosphere when I arrived at the restaurant, as there was none whatsoever to speak of. There was a tiny sign outside and that's it. Felt like I was walking into a school cafeteria, albeit the alcohol bottles at one end.
Food...oh dear, how do I even begin to describe? Taste wise, yes it was Indian food made fancy, no doubt. But portion VS price? Pretentious. Certainly a rip-off! All three 'smaller plates' were of varying sizes. And the content of the 'larger plate' was even LESSER than than smaller plate! Geez! That would explain why Farzi was not even 1/4 full on a Friday night and its neighbouring restaurants were buzzing.
Come here only if you have too much money to waste but not in the mood for an actual feed. Yes, we had to go to a different place to eat.
We've spent one week in Hobart and been to some pretty fancy places, but certainly not one which charged $34 for THREE miserable, tiny pieces of...
Read morePretty basic. I’ve heard great things about Farzi and all my friends love dining there particularly the bottomless brunch which I’ve not tried, however, I have a feeling that might be the only good thing they do. We had an outdoor table in the sun which was lovely, as soon as I sat down 2 minutes later we had our male waiter ask for orders, he seemed very disinterested as if we were massively effecting his day. My drink came out first then another then the third. All drinks should just come out at the same time, saves 3 trips to a table, you don’t need to stagger coffee. The food was pretty simple, nothing astonishing. I had the Shakshuka with chorizo, my friends ordered the Farzi Bruschetta and Avo Toast. Our dirty plates sat on our table for close to an hour before cleared, we would’ve loved to have ordered more drinks but no one ever came back and then we paid. The service was lacking. The restaurant space itself is very pretty and ‘instagrammable’ like every other new...

Longer review: the good points are VERY good. The bad points aren't that big a deal.
It's a shame this place isn't in the middle of the very rustic buildings of the wharf with the atmosphere and views. Nevertheless, the food and staff offset this.
I ordered the French Toast. What I got was an episode of "Masterchef". If you're after savoury, pick something else. If you're looking for sweet, then this will give your mouth an orgasm!
The good wife ordered herself the avocado's on toast, always in the hope that it would better the same thing she had at a lovely Cafe in 1770 in North QLD. There have been few places that come close but this place finally bettered it. A-MAZE-BALLS.
Now, the coffee looked lovely in funky cups but it wasn't hot enough for my liking, especially on a winters day but I'm being picky. Not even worth knocking a point off for, so we give our trip to Farzi 5...
