Great water views of Hobart. Easy access to walk to the city or Salamanca (market on Saturdays). Close to good restaurants and casual dining. Ferry to MONA is close by as is Mawson's Hut museum. Also close to the Tasmanian museum and art gallery. 8 min walk to Woolworths and close to nightlife activities. Cross the bridge to Hunter street to find the Drunken Admiral seafood restaurant. Also close is Mures fishmongers. Casual dining downstairs or for something special check out the restaurant upstairs. Excellent seafood, as is the Drunken Admiral restaurant. Both are a great restaurant choice for seafood. Plenty of fast food options available and yummy icecream from the floating fish punts. Mako fish punt has great fresh seafood at good prices, prawns, lobster, crab, scallops, market value fish. Constitution Dock is the harbour-side dock area of Hobart, the capital city of the Australian state of Tasmania, in the Port of Hobart, on the Derwent River.

The dock is adjacent to other Hobart landmark areas, Victoria Dock, Salamanca Place and Battery Point, and forms part of the foreshore of Sullivans Cove.

The dock consists of a rock-walled marina with an opening for boats. The bridge is normally closed, allowing pedestrian access around the dock. The dock is normally used by motor pleasure boats, yachts, and fishing boats serving the city's fish market and restaurants, several of which are at the northern end of the dock.

Constitution Dock is famous for being the rallying point and party venue for the annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, held from Boxing Day (the day after Christmas Day) until yachts complete their 630 nautical mile journey...

Hobart and surrounds are well worth a visit. So much to see and do. Restaurants and seafood are 2nd to none. We stayed at the Grand Chancellor hotel right opposite the marina. From here you can walk to the Salamanca Markets, great shopping and gardens right in the centre of Hobart. At the restaurants directly opposite the hotel you can dine on the freshest local Tasmanian seafood and have the most wonderful breakfasts by the water.
