Dominique’s Café — Restaurant in Ipswich City

If I could give ZERO stars, I would — NO STAR RATING! My mum ordered a pork and gravy roll (she’s been sick, and it was the only thing she’d eaten all day), and I got a chicken salad wrap with cheese. The lady serving us — her name started with a “B,” I think, and it was written on her shirt — dropped my wrap on the chair near the table, then just put it back on the plate! When I asked for a new one, she told me I’d have to pay for it. Completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, when I tried to speak to her before we left about how rude she had been, I overheard her speaking nastily about my mother and me in the kitchen, around other staff, and with customers not far away who could easily hear it. Absolutely unprofessional and appalling.

The previous staff used to be friendly and welcoming, which made this one of our favourite lunch spots. Not anymore. The new staff and atmosphere have ruined it. We left that day swearing never to return.

On top of it all, service was painfully slow — over 30 minutes just to get coffees, not even counting the food — and the place wasn’t even busy.

First time customers at Dominique's Cafe and left a little bit disappointed. The cafe was great, nice and clean. The staff were super friendly and service was great. The menu looked good and of good value. We were just let down by the quality of food. We ordered a pulled pork roll and it was terrible. I asked for a takeaway container to take the rest of it home for my dogs, but even they wouldn't eat it. I'm hoping that this was a one off, but unsure if I will chance myself again. Other customers seemed to be happy, so I am assuming they just didn't get it right on...

The waiter served small cappuccino and we were charged for a large mugs. His attitude was unfriendly though we we were regular customers here for over 8 years. We missed a friendly, lovely smile lady who served us with kind heart who is no longer working here. The savoury pastries were displayed together with the sweet pastries and we pointed at the display area said " Danish pastry please " . the waiter wrapped the bacon pastry in a paper bag, we opened and realised he gave it a wrong one, but he wouldn't swap, so we fed it to our dog .
