The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Served by the owner who is the brains behind the exquisite handmade dumplings. I can recommend the prawn har gow, fish pan fried dumplings. Popcorn chicken, pork buns, the sophisticated pork xiao long bao. Great Veggo and Vegan options for plant based diets like Crystal cucumber Salad, brocolli salad & edemame. I recommend getting a variety of steamed and fried selections just to try it out and you can share a bit similar to a yum cha experience. They also have mains but we chose to share a few options. They are licenced with both alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. There is no sign outside so finding it can be confusing as the food court surrounding this venue is still under construction look for the big neon smiling face. On a previous night we couldn't see that it was open as it is situated down the mall near the library so we went to eat somewhere else, I guess this will change once the food court is completed. ACCESS; ✅My friend with a mobility walking aid was able access everything easily and the surrounding Nicholas St Precinct is flat and sealed for every human. Neurodiverse 😎 can be noisy when busy but very accomdating for diverse cognitive needs & no loud music, good volume. Can get takeaway if you feel overwhelmed.

We dined at 6:00pm on a Saturday night. We didn’t have a booking, but I would recommend one, such is the popularity of this wonderful little restaurant. It is quite small, but that’s part of its charm. We were seated immediately, with 3 tables out of about 12 available. The decor was clean, uncluttered and appropriate. The staff were very attentive and friendly, suggesting a table and then returning soon after we sat down to take our order. The menu was interesting and whilst not super extensive, there was enough to tempt us to come back to try the various offerings. We selected the pork belly main meal pork belly steamed dumplings and fish fried dumplings. These arrived in staggered time, allowing us to start eating each one before the next arrived. They were served very quickly and were very hit as they hit the table. They were all very tasty, but the fried fish dumplings, when combined with the vinegar from the bottle in the table, was a super star. The drinks menu offered appropriate accompaniments and the price of the evening was very reasonable. Kudos also to the town planners of Ipswich, who are certainly bringing the city’s centre back to life, with a gelato place now across the street!

Tried this quaint dumpling place on Nicholas street and it was fairly comforting . The pricing was slightly expensive and the dumplings they are known for were lacking . Uncertain if it’s a coincidence but the Xiao long bao was very similar to the pre frozen ones from Costco and the pan fried dumplings were slightly undercooked. The crispy popcorn chicken was the saving grace and really delicious which is one thing I would recommend . Would drop by if needing an Asian bite to eat but will not be ordering the same things apart from the chicken .

Tonight we ordered $75 worth of food takeaway, 6 serves of dumplings and a serve of BBQ pork buns and was told a 20 minute wait.

40 minutes after ordering still nothing so checked on the progress and staff were going to follow up.

60 minutes after ordering we could see a serve of dumplings on the counter and the pork buns. Politely told staff we could only wait another 10 minutes and then would need to cancel the order and get a refund.

On going back to cancel the order, 70 minutes after placing it, was told they were making it now.

In total we received the order 1 hour and 15 minutes after placing it. They staff included an extra serve of dumplings for the inconvenience.

While the young girls you had on serving were lovely and doing their best under stressful conditions (it wasn’t their fault), the dumplings we received weren’t worth the wait time, the pork buns still had the paper stuck to the bottom and were cold from sitting on the counter.

We’ll always be the first to support a new local business, but after this experience, even in your first week we probably won’t be back anytime soon.

We hope you read this review as constructive feedback and we hope to...
