8 Miles Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

Was here a month ago for lunch and have thought back to the lovely service and smoothie a few times since. I got a toastie as well which was good but the real prize was the banana peanut cacao smoothie called "the Ash". I watched the young cashier getting a bit anxious/stressed with a few orders on the go when the guy behind the counter smiled and reassured her and gave encouragement and gentle advice. Turns out he was the owner, Ash himself. The chef seemed in a good mood and helpful too. Meh, I mean for $12.50 for a bacon and scrambled egg roll (don't think I've ever had a scrambled B&E roll before.... not a fan personally) and a coffee you can't really go wrong.

I'm in the area for a while so will come back and order something different to see if the flavour is any better.

I still would come here over the other cafes in the area charging triple the price for the same quality, just better Ikea plants and a clean window.

But yeah I will be back and hopefully I can update the review a bit more favourably, if not then this is still the best option in the local area! Oh, very...

I had arrived from interstate and it was late so I goggled restaurants near me and this was the closest but what a find it was! I ordered the chicken satay pizza and it was the best I've had in a long time. An amazing crispy base with just the right amount of toppings. The young woman who served me was lovely and was willing to have a chat whilst she created her masterpiece. The place is not much to look at and it won't win any interior design awards but don't let that stop you. I'm going back tonight for dinner to try...
