Agraba Lebanese Mezze @ Errol's — Restaurant in Melbourne

Being Lebanese myself I love the food. My father, when alive, would cook everything from meals to cakes and was very good at it. It was rare to find something made better than what he made. In regards to this restaurant, they failed miserably. My son and I were so disappointed with basic things like Tabouli, it had very little parsley and cracked wheat and they used red onions in abundance instead of spring onions. Horrible. There was not one thing we ate that you could say they got right. The only thing that I never had before was a Lebanese beer that was very nice, and obviously the restaurant didn't make that. $115 for two people was excessive for below park Lebanese food. I will stick to places in Brunswick such as Tiba's as they are competing against many other Lebanese restaurants close by, and in my opinion, this keeps them on their toes. I went to this place as part of a family birthday party (a dozen of us). We did book, and I'm glad we did as it appeared to fill up quite quickly. Friendly welcome and drinks offering, we were encouraged to have the set menu but chose against it because of too many aversions (eg to tomato and vinegar). So we picked out a number of dishes, about 1.25 each, and shared around the table. This was perfect. The food was fresh, tasty and I think authentic - we're not Lebanese but it tasted delicious! I would definitely recommend this place for a drop in meal if it's not full, or book it in - I know I will be going back. FYI we had 5 kids with us, all aged over 10 so could sit mostly in one place. Let me start by saying that the food here is very good. Like yummy, and reasonably priced for small share plates. Plus they give you free bread which was great.

....but. And it's a big but. The girl serving us was just rude. Really rude. Almost to the point where she was rolling her eyes. Palpable distain.

Thankfully she left, and the other guy took our money. But man, wrecked the whole experience.

We think that because they were quiet, that they wanted to pack up and go home early. But it was only 9.30pm when we left?...
