Bar Clara — Restaurant in Melbourne

Atmosphere is wonderful. Staff are rude and arrogant. The only nice person was the lady with blue hair that let me in. The bartender making drink after drink after drink for the two gentleman next to me was rude when last drink was called, I was finishing a drink and said if I drink this, may I order another to which another bartender said "if you're quick". The bartender serving the two gentleman then declined my order because he was dishing out 4 drinks for the two guys at last call and I am to "take my issue up with the bartender that served me. I was there for 1hr, it took 30 mins to get someone's attention for a second.. I wanted to order 2, but was denied to be double parked. More like double standards ! Guys next to me been double parking the duration I was there. Oh well! Other bars around!

I have since edited my review here in relation the owner response. I maybe exaggerated an hour, 40 mins is close. Please check your cameras again for the time I've raised my hand or tried to usher some service, I was ignored. Fair enough for the drink policy, but ordering 2 drinks , I expect 2 standards, in one hour is fine. I wouldn't have asked for the 3rd drink if the bartender did not antagonise me by saying "if you're quick" , it suggests 'yes drink that and I'll make you one', if I was explained "no, we have called last drinks and you've been served 3 standard drinks, I cannot do that", it's not that hard to be nice and while the owner is correct on saying the gentleman next to me were never double parked, the bartender serving a drink and immediately asking what's next and making a new one as they finish the last, like he's their personal bartender should be counted as double parking, but kudos for the loop hole find to keep your responsible conduct of alcohol certificate in check. I have now rated this place 1-star all round. Worst service and worst retaliation...

In planning the event, the bar owner and manager was a breeze to deal with. He was extremely professional and accommodating to our requests, prompt in his communication, and quick to meet all of our requests. Our expectations were not just met, but exceeded.

I want to also give a special mention to the bar staff, Malachi, Tom, Chris, and Tori. Each of them ensured that our night was sure to dazzle – quick to meet our requests, courteous and professional, and committed to providing a safe and elegant space for our guests. We were very impressed. The bar staff are a real asset to Bar Clara, and this did not go unnoticed.
