We came to this bar hoping to spend a good night with a friend. We ordered two dishes to share and two drinks. A plate with the drinks came first. Meanwhile, we asked for a fork which took 10 minutes to bring, which meant we ended up eating our first course with our hands. When the waitress presented the second course, she spilled water on our pants, and our cell phones and the water even got on our shoes. She only apologized once, and she gave us six napkins to dry ourselves... 6 napkins for two people... let's remember we were sitting outside and still, the nights were cold. We later spent 2 minutes trying to get another waitress to pay attention to us. Once we managed to get her to come to us, we told her that we were wet because of what had happened. She didn't even try to resolve the situation, and we asked her to please change us inside because it was cold to be wet outside. Once we got her to say she would call the manager, a third person (not the manager) who was the only one interested in trying to fix the situation came. This person offered to let us in and find a table for us. After waiting 10 minutes, the manager (a tall rude guy wearing a sky blue suit) offered us another table outside. OUTSIDE...we wanted to get dry and stop chilling after your waitress's mistake. Meanwhile, our second course was getting cold. We ended up eating our second plate all wet, and because the third person tried to find a place inside, she asked us to get up, and we waited 10 minutes inside. During that time, she kept our drinks. So we said we were finally going to leave the place. For the first course, we had to eat it with our hands; the second course got cold because the waitress spilled water on us, and one of the waitresses held our drinks while we waited for a table. Nor will we ever be able to find a table. The icing on the cake is that they did not even deduct something from the bill's value. We spent $106 to have lousy service. So yes, I did not expect to pay the whole bill after the faulty service. However, we paid instantly without rejecting to do it. But we never said we wouldn't pay our bill as you accused in our google review. I do not recommend this place and would not return because their service does not align with a service worthy of payment. We understand the accident wasn't intentional; what we don't understand is the lack of and faulty service to manage...
Read moreThe decent food was overshadowed by poor service.
We were seated and we were not told they were closing soon (it was around 8pm) and we ordered like normal.
Food came out and we were eating our entree. Waitress came over while we were still eating and asked to take the food away. I had a full mouthful and couldn't even answer, she continued to take it. I then reached out and took the remaining food (we wanted to eat)as she pulled it away from us.
She then set her eyes to my sisters plate, who was also still eating and had a baby to contend with and also had a full mouth of food.
We literally couldn't grab the food fast enough to prevent it from being taken from us and couldn't say anything because our mouth was full.
It was shocking and extremely rude. It was very clear that we were still eating .. we were so confused and didn't think we had to fight to keep our food.
Then our main came, and before we even took a bite we were told that the kitchen was closing and we had to order dessert now (we weren't given a dessert menu at this point however and our main is sitting in front of us going cold).
If they were closing it would have been polite for them to tell us when we were seated and we would have ordered it all i one. However, we certainly weren't there for long and there was tables being served as we were leaving..
The waitress also kept putting our utensils on the same corner of the table and we kept knocking down the cutlery as we just moved around. It was just odd.
She would say things with a slight smile but behave really rudely.. it seemed as though she just didn't want to be there..
I dont know..it was quite uncomfortable for the both of us.
It's a shame because the food was decent.
We went to Maison Batard a French restaurant the night before and couldn't believe the difference in the service. They were fantastic...
Read moreDISGUSTED BEYOND WORDS We went there for a quick drink and dinner and the place was heaving. Sensational vibes, everyone was having an amazing time. Unfortunately when it came time to pay the bill, we were in a hurry to leave and we had asked the waitress a few times to pay in which we had the wallet with our credit card and invoice on our table for 20 minutes. The waitress was cleaning our table in which we reminded her we needed to go, so can we please pay. She said she cannot take the wallet. We left and proceed onto LEFT BANK (amazing place and a lot more professional waiting stuff). A abosolute RUDE man walked up to us asking for payment, from SOHO in which we handed our credit card to no problem. Seeming happy enough he took the card and came back, onto which we ask, has all the bill been settled and he said yes. HE THEN, ESCALATED THE SITUATION and walked towards all the staff at Left bank and pointed towards our table to insinuated to them that we had done a runner on his restaurant, professionally, you have crossed the line and 2, you have now shamed your customers. When approached he turned VERY VERY nasty and said he could have lost our money and walked away in a huff. When we approached the staff at Left bank, they told us to just ignore him, all was well. IF SOHO WERE TO HAVE ANY RETURNING CUSTOMERS, THIS STAFF MEMBER AND THE INCOMPETENT STAFF THAT WAS CLEARING OUR TABLE WOULD NEED A BIT MORE EDUCATION IN CUSTOMER SERVICE - food and drinks were amazing, very unfortunate that your front of house staff was so arrogant. THIS WILL BE POSTED IN ALL COMMUNITY SOCIAL MEDIA and I hope no other customer will ever be left feeling so bad after such a...
