WE LOVE MATT‼️‼️ (and that guy on the left)

Matt is one of those people who effortlessly makes a significant impact on the lives of those around him. I first met Matt a few years ago, and our initial interaction left an indelible mark on me. At that time, my beloved bird was diagnosed with a severe illness, and the treatment required was quite expensive. I was in a difficult financial situation and unsure how I would be able to afford the necessary chemotherapy for my feathered friend. It was during this stressful and emotional period that Matt stepped in.

I didn't know Matt very well then; he was more of an acquaintance than a close friend. However, when he heard about my predicament, he didn't hesitate to offer his help. Without any expectation of repayment or recognition, Matt gave me the money I needed to cover the cost of my bird's treatment. His generosity and kindness were overwhelming. It wasn't just the financial assistance that touched me deeply; it was the genuine compassion and empathy he showed. He understood the bond I had with my pet and wanted to ensure I had every chance to save its life.

This act of kindness was just the beginning. Over the years, Matt has consistently been a supportive and reliable presence in my life. Whenever I've faced challenges or needed a burger to eat, Matt has always been there. Whether it's offering a listening ear, providing practical advice, or simply being a comforting presence, he has proven time and again that he is a true friend.

One of the remarkable things about Matt is his humility. He doesn't help others for accolades or recognition; he does it because he genuinely cares. His actions come from a place of sincerity and selflessness, which is increasingly rare in today's world. Matt's kindness extends beyond just his friends and family; he has a reputation for being someone who is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Whether it's volunteering for community projects, helping neighbors with tasks, or supporting local causes, Matt is always actively involved in making a positive difference.

Recently, Matt has been participating in a competition that means a lot to him. Given his character and the countless ways he's helped others, it's no surprise that many of us are rooting for him to win. His success would not only be a testament to his hard work and dedication but also a well-deserved reward for someone who has given so much to others. I genuinely hope he triumphs in this competition because he truly deserves it. His victory would be celebrated by many who have been touched by his kindness and generosity.

Reflecting on the years of knowing Matt, I'm continually amazed by his unwavering support and friendship. It's rare to find someone who is so consistently kind and giving. Matt's actions have inspired me to be more compassionate and generous, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. He has a way of bringing out the best in people, encouraging them to be more thoughtful and caring in their own lives.

As I think about all the times Matt has been there for me, I am filled with gratitude. His support during my bird's illness was just the start of a friendship that has grown stronger with each passing year. I am proud to call him my friend and will always be grateful for the difference he has made in my life. Winning this competition would be a fitting recognition of the wonderful person Matt is, and I am confident that he will continue to make a positive impact on many more lives in the future. I don’t know the guy on the left of this photo he wanted...

WE LOVE GEORGE AND MATT!!!

Wow can I say that George and Matt were absolutely amazing. They were extremely friendly and made the overall experience better. Their amazing service has made me consider moving closer to the city to enjoy their beautiful service once more. George wore a knee brace today, symbolising his genuine passion and hard work that he has provided to the work place. Matt has inspired me to become a better and nicer person to my peers from now on. He displayed an excellent performance at work today by being extremely appreciative towards us and for talking with him and he has also been very genuine and down to earth. For my whole life, I had been deprived of such social creatures who were the best of the best. These two together have truly earned the award for best waiters out of all the Betty’s burgers in Melbourne if not Australia. These guys should be competing against some of the other best waiters in the world as together, they have incredible communication and teamwork. Along with this, George is also an extremely down to earth man and is also very genuine human being. George had spotted one of my friends on the train tracks on flinders street and he, a hero, grabbed my friend off the tracks and pushed them away from the incoming train. In the process, he injured his knee and now comes to work with a bad knee, truly portraying his dedication to his craft. To add to Matt’s brilliance, he provided me with a sticker with the word special on it, making me recover from my depression and making me feel like a special person. I now wear this sticker on my head every day to remember this experience. From this day forward, I will continue to remember these amazing people and will try to live life how they would want it. They are my new role models, taken over from Donald J Trump (Ex president of the United States of America). Thank you for this incredible service and beautiful experience George and Matt...

I went to Betty’s with my sister for dinner on a week night. It was very busy, which I’d expect after reading other reviews, but we got a table pretty quickly. I had the mushroom & beef burger with fries and my sister got the beef burger with a lettuce ‘bun’. For dessert, I got the lemon cheesecake concrete for dessert and my sister got the peanut brittle. They were all incredibly delicious, I’m so glad I got the beef and mushroom double stack. There are two reasons why I didn’t give them five stars: Everything is served in disposable, single use packaging. While this is expected for take away, we dined in - not even the tray was reusable! And there was so much extra, unnecessary packaging on everything. This was really disappointing in 2019, I definitely expect better - even McDonald’s has reusable trays, plates and mugs! My sister is wheat free so had to be careful with her dessert order. The allergen listing menu at Betty’s is GREAT - so helpful and clear to read. However, there’s so many staff working at Betty’s behind the counter and a lot of them don’t know what’s in the food - my sister had swapped the peanut brittle to a peanut butter cup and told them when ordering it’s because she’s wheat free - no issues. When she started eating the dessert, there was an unexpected crunch - she went back to make sure they’d swapped out the brittle and it took SIX different employees to figure it out as nobody knew. She finally managed to get to someone who realised there was a wafer flake-thing in the peanut brittle combo that wasn’t listed on the menu. The allergen menu is only so great if your staff actually know what’s in the food they’re making! Not sure I’d go back,...

The entrance to this place looks really inviting and the atmosphere inside is really nice. The actual concept escapes me... You line up while a table is free and the Maître D gives you a menu. You can't actually grab a seat and have a drink while you wait, but you actually have to stand up at the entrance... Once there's a table available, you proceed towards the order counter and make your order (a quick and painless process). You're then given a buzzer, which you take with you to the table. The super annoying thing is that with all 3 orders, our buzzers went off separately for each part of the order - once for your Burger and Fries, once for your Drink, and once for your Concrete (sundae). So, you need to get up and go to the pickup counter each time - it's rather frustrating and peculiar that they can't just have it all ready at once. The food... I had their classic burger and it was packed with flavour. That said, at $10, it's expensive for what it is as it simply isn't enough. You either need $5 fries or $6 onion rings (or both), or maybe just a second burger (at which point the whole exercise becomes quite expensive). I didn't try a milkshake, but had a Raspberry Cheesecake Concrete (sundae), which was quite nice, but at $8 it's, once again, on the pricey side. They do have a few beers on tap as well as cider and wine - all very reasonably priced. Overall, it's a cool joint to try out once, but I doubt it that I'll return considering there are far better choices in Melbourne. (3.5 stars is more accurate)
