You know you’re looking good when you walk into your hole in the wall coffee shop and they’ve got Grace Jones spinning on the turntable, better yet the long black is as good as the vibe. Cathedral Coffee is a great little spot near Vintage Sole and Retro Star in Cathedral Arcade, one of Melbournes hidden arcade gems. Take a seat on the beautifully tiled arcade and watch Melbourne life go by. Friendly people making great coffee, it’s what makes Melbourne the best city in Australia.

What a great find! Busy little cafe and wine bar. Staff super friendly and very efficient. The have an eclectic mix of wines that change all the time. Staff are happy for you to taste the wine to help you decide which one to choose. Most of the seating is in the arcade. After 5pm they serve snacks and they have a small menu of option that again changes regularly. Definitely we will go back again

Okay. Friday night settled, a lil chil for a summer night. Came in for a bottle of Jean Yves Peron, ended with some amazing snacks. The fried toast with anchovies sheesh, and don’t get me started on the prawns on toast — if you like a lobster roll get these bad bois. To finish an unreal Grenache from Mano a Mano. Perfecto evening in the Melbourne cbd

I've been a regular at this coffee shop for nearly two years and have always had positive experiences, especially with the female staff, who are consistently friendly and professional.

Today, however, I had a disappointing experience with a relatively new male staff member. I ordered a large latte and waited about 15 minutes, during which several customers who ordered after me received their drinks. One customer who happened to be the same ethnicity as me, was given a large coffee she clearly didn’t order and was visibly confused. I suspected it might’ve been mine but decided to wait.

After about 25 minutes, I politely asked about my order. Without an apology, the staff simply said they'd make a new one. When I mentioned that my original order may have been given to someone else, the male staff member responded dismissively with, “It was just a mistake, love,” still without acknowledging the issue or offering an apology.

I let them know I needed to set up for work upstairs and would return shortly. When I came back, my coffee still wasn’t ready. Instead, there was a small latte on the counter. The same male staff member told me I could take it "if I wanted" or wait for another. I reminded him I had paid for a large, and only then did he begin preparing the correct drink.

The most disappointing part wasn’t the wait, but the complete lack of accountability, the condescending attitude, and the absence of a simple apology.

I’ve often recommended this place to clients, but after today’s experience, I no longer feel...

This is my first and hopefully last time ever bad review. I don’t usually like to put negative reviews for business. However, boy have I had multiple aweful experieces where ive had to write this.

Extremely expensive coffee and baguette. Like way over the top and the service has been just aweful everytime. I usually get a long machiato and 2/3 times ive gotten a cold espresso shot with no dash of milk or water on the side.

Today was just the last draw where I was waiting on the chair outstide, waiting on my friend to come meet me there and I was sitting outside where I was told to get up as this is for paying customers only and at the time there was 0 customers. Ive let the man know i am a customer and just waiting in my friend but he didnt care. Just not the experience you would expect from a cafe where people go to chill and enjoy the coffee and a chat. Seemed pushy, rude, expensive.

I would forgive an expensive coffee for good manners and nice service but out of the 3-4 times ive tried the coffee there, I have not had one nice experience.

As mentioned, I take no pleasure in giving such low scores but ive just had...

Came to this cafe for the first time with some friends and never regretted spending money more in my life.

After only sitting for 20 minutes we were told we would have to leave as there were other customers coming in despite us being paying customers. The entire experience was unenjoyable, as we were being watched at every moment by the male worker wearing colourful wear as if we had done something illegal for doing some peaceful art activities while drinking our burnt coffee.

This leads me to the overpriced small coffee that was 5.50 just for it to be burnt! We didnt even get the chance to finish almost half of our coffees before being quite literally kicked out. When telling the worker that we had already ordered coffee and were planning to finish it before leaving we were told the exact same response that other customers needed a seat.

Not only that but the disrespect we were faced with for doing absolutely nothing but keeping to ourself was disgusting. This was also disheartening especially since many other customers were sipping on coffees and weren't told a word about...
