For those who aren't familiar, Yunnan is a province in China known for its vibrant culture and delicious food.

I'd heard they had some really unique dishes, so I ventured in feeling a bit adventurous. The staff were super friendly and explained everything on the menu I wasn't familiar with. They even suggested a few things based on what I said I liked. I ended up getting a noodle dish with these incredible wild mushrooms – they were so flavourful and unlike anything I'd ever tasted before.

The portion sizes were generous, and everything was beautifully presented. It felt like a real taste of Yunnan right there in Melbourne. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and it seemed like a popular spot with both locals and tourists.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit. While eating my meal, I found a 5cm metal piece in the food. This was shocking and unacceptable. When I brought it to the staff’s attention, not only did they fail to apologise, but they also casually dismissed it, saying it must have come from the kitchen during cooking.

Food was wonderful, but service made the entire experience so unpleasant. We had a big group of 8 so I suppose that meant more work? I’m not sure, I don’t want to be assuming, but from the get go when I asked for a table she said oh no doesn’t look like it. And I turned around to see an empty table for 7 and we could just squeeze on a chair for 8. Naturally we had to do this ourselves.
