Degani Dandenong — Restaurant in Melbourne

Few weeks ago, during my short stay in Melbourne, I found myself in a bind. I was visiting a close friend and needed to find a last-minute cake or some sweets. Unfortunately, by the time I reached Dandenong Plaza, it was already 9 PM, and every shop was closed.

Disheartened, I walked past Degani cafe, only to see them getting ready to open their doors the next day. Knowing it was a long shot, I explained my situation to the owner. To my surprise, she was incredibly kind and understanding.

Despite not having access to the cash register after hours, she generously accepted cash and allowed me to purchase some cupcakes and cookies. She even packed them beautifully in a box for me.

I was truly touched by her willingness to go above and beyond to help me out. Her kindness and genuine smile saved the day and made my life so much easier.

I cannot recommend Degani Cafe enough. Not only are they opening a brand new location in Dandenong Plaza, but they also have an amazing team that goes the extra mile for their customers. I wish them all the best with their new venture and hope to visit again soon.

Hmmmm where do i start. Degani's is a cafe chain so I'd expect some form of uniform service and delivery at least. Ive been to a few of their outlets and normally its average to ok.

I walk to the counter and the most stoic staff is behind the register and I'm greeted by a blank stare and a yes?. I've been wondering for a while now why this degani's suffers so hard. The service with a smile is severely lacking. You're just not gonna make any lasting impressions on any customer walking in.

Ordered the ice coffee n pasta lunch spesh. Ice coffee had whip cream wish i was asked when i ordered. Most places will ask if u want whip cream on top. Pasta is edible. Staff are nowhere to be seen if i need a glass of water not that every cafe worth its salt would just serve it upon service anyway.

Staff need to greet customers. Start with hey hows it goin? How can we help today preferably with a sunny side up smile! Overall a subpar lunch experience. This is easily fixed. Coffee was at least decent. And i still took one away as i finish this review. Will i return? Unlikely at this point. 2 stars just...

The food from the store is a rip-off/not worth the money so the 3- stars on food is due to pricing you can get food that is cheaper and much better at beetle cafe and there was not much people at the restaurant today and i have chosen to no longer go there as it does not let you eat food from other restaurants in it even if there is not much customers a foolish rule indeed they made there now they are going to get less money as I will no longer be buying food from the store again. If they really want to get more money by making rules like such they should have made it so that if there is not much customers people can eat foods from different restaurants in it that way they would not lose customers while at the same time benefiting from the no eating food from other restaurants in there restaurant rule as much as they ever could.
