During our visit, we indulged in a breakfast that was nothing short of delightful. The coffee, a rich and aromatic brew, was expertly crafted, providing that much-needed morning boost. It paired wonderfully with our meal, which consisted of porridge and chilli scrambled eggs with bacon.

The porridge was a standout—creamy, hearty, and comforting, just the way porridge should be. It was the perfect balance of flavours and texture, offering a wholesome start to the day. The chilli scrambled eggs with bacon were another highlight. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, fluffy, and infused with just the right amount of chilli heat, which was balanced by the crispiness of the bacon. This dish was a creative and flavorful twist on a breakfast classic, providing a satisfying kick that elevated the whole experience.

The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Federal Coffee is a charming little coffee shop tucked away on a corner, and it quickly became one of our favorite spots in town. Its cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. The shop's quaint and intimate setting, paired with friendly staff, creates a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle.

We found ourselves returning to Federal Coffee multiple times, a testament to the consistently excellent experience they provide. The coffee is exceptional, with each cup brewed to perfection. Whether you prefer a strong espresso, a smooth latte, or a refreshing iced coffee, Federal Coffee delivers with rich, robust flavors and a beautifully crafted presentation.

In addition to their top-notch coffee, Federal Coffee offers a selection of delightful pastries and light snacks. The freshly baked goods are a treat, perfectly complementing the high-quality coffee. The croissants and muffins, in particular, were favorites, always fresh...

Although it’s a great exposition of Melbourne café culture, the prices are a little steep and some staff weren’t the nicest.

The coffee here was great. With Industry Beans coffee, you can’t go wrong. However, it was $5 for a regular flat white, which is a little steep. I had a lunch here, an avo and eggs on toast. Can’t deny that it tasted great, but again, it was a bit pricy at $18.

It was a mixed bag with staff. Some of them weren’t very friendly or willing to help out, while others were helpful and amicable. I might have eaten on an unlucky day.

In terms of location, the café is well located in the heart of the CBD. It has nice seating that is outdoor but covered. There aren’t many, however, and it is often full or close to full.
