🍩 Hot Jam Doughnuts

After nearly 40 years, Footscray’s much loved iconic Olympic Doughnuts caravan closed in 2017 after the passing of owner, Nick. I don’t think I ever passed through Footscray without purchasing a bag of them growing up. As a tribute, a plaque was installed on-site complete with the Olympic rings and leaping dolphins; a nod to Mr Tsiligiris’ famous jam dolphin dispenser. 🇬🇷🐬

Russell who also owns @dadanddaves cafe in Yarraville took over the site and opened Footscray Doughnuts and Coffee. Doughnuts are $2 a pop, or you can grab 2 doughnuts and a coffee for $7.50.

They are fried fresh to order, are a decent size, covered in sugar and filled with hot jam. We did find them a little dense and unsure about the choice of jam but overall nice. Big shoes to fill but gets the job done.

They use @lovetea Honey Spiced Loose Leaf Chai here and I love it. Check it out next time you’re nearby or passing through Footscray...

I always buy coffee and doughnut at the next door convenient store for $4.50. Today I feel like wanna try something expensive. That's why I went here.

Spent $8.50 here. My mocha was great. But I don't like the staff who served me. White girl with European accent. She's not friendly and she break my banana cake into 2 pieces when the paper bag is big enough to fit the whole thing.

I visited a shop named Footscray Donuts and Coffee today, where I enjoyed a delicious chicken sandwich, hot chocolate, coffee, and jam donuts. Everything I tried was absolutely delightful. The two lovely girls at the counter, Moon and Cinthiya, were amazing — we had a short but sweet conversation, and their warm, friendly service truly stood out. Such wonderful staff make the experience even better. Definitely worth the price, and I will gladly...
