Gong Cha Chadstone — Restaurant in Melbourne

Will NEVER buy from them again. Surprised by the recent terrible service, read on to find out what happened.

I have been a regular customer of Gong Cha Chaddys, buying nearly every alternate day since they've opened, spending way over a thousand bucks on this shop.

To lay out some background, Gong Cha has 2 forms of privileges, their

1. loyalty cards (electronic) in which every customer and general public can use (buy 10 drinks and get something free), and
2. privileges for students of different societies at Monash and other schools who have purchased a privilege card (allowing for 1 free topping) for a drink purchased. Both of these have been around for ages now, and both privileges could be used concurrently if you hold both cards.

Recently, when buying my drink from this store with my friends, the MANAGER (says so on the tag), who was some skinny dude approximately 1.7m tall, says that they no longer allow both forms of privileges to be used. When questioned, he said it was because the policy has changed.

So I was like, wait, but then what's the point of these student societies advertising for you then? If there are no additional benefits from your establishment for holding a student society card as compared to the general public?

(Mind you, the societies advertise that Gong Cha costs money to join, and states that Gong Cha as a supporting partner, and this definitely does bring about extra business from students to Gong Cha.)

He was like "oh well too bad for you it's just like this, you think you guys are special? You're not. "

oh my god. I was in utter shock, and so were my friends. We are never ever going to buy Gong cha from this chadstones store again, and probably all other Gong cha stores. Can't believe me and my friends continued wasting money on this scam establishment even though they've raised prices for all drinks twice in the past 2 years, and with each drink costing an average of $6-7 a cup now.

If this policy is true, shame on you for lying to the students. Even if its not true, shame on you too.

All students who are potentially affected by this, I urge you to protect your psychological well-being from being infringed upon. Stop getting ripped off by spending all your pocket money which you can use for food on...

I’m a Gongcha customer for almost 8 years and this is my first ever disappointment from Gongcha in different aspects.

I ordered 2 cups today: a plum green tea and a green milk tea. And what I received is much more below than what I expected. I do understand the whole team crew is very busy due to a large number of customer, however bad customer service and low quality control is the problem I can see here.

When I came back to the store to handle them back my cup, I told them about my experience, however, never heard any word or at least an apology there. The only thing I received is a cold look and she quickly ignored about my complaints so I decided not to make a scene in there and write this instead so the higher management could have a real insight about the store.

The drink tasted and smell bad. After first sip, I gave them back instantly. I just want to notify them incase the other customers would receive the same bad experience like mine. I didn’t even mention about the refund or reimbursement. At least a customer who received a un-drinkable beverage should get a simple apology.

Any front staff is representing the GONGCHA franchise while the staff still working for them, however, I don’t feel like any respect come from them today, I hope the GONGCHA’s higher management could have a properly speak about this problem...

I never thought I would write a review of my favourite bubble tea joint but this is hads down the WORST gong cha I've been to. I'm talking about the one opposite Aldi and the butcher's .The man who served me Henry or Harry has imputed my drink wrong, and when they asked if I've been asked to check my order I said I'm not sure. And come to recall he hasn't! I said green tea milk mango. Just because I've not said it according to the phrase menu he did not bother clarifying with me what I meant and gave me mango allisan tea. They refuse to admit fault and said that they heard mango green tea and gave me whatever without bothering to clarify. Oh and my points didn't scan on the phone too. What a wonderful way to ruin my day off! I'm glad that there are many other bubble tea offerings at chadstone cause I'll never go back there if this is the kind of person...
