What a shame this isn't my local Cafe.
Such a great feed. We ordered 3 coffees, a big breakfast (Hanna's Breaky), a cheese pie, and 2 large dimmies. It cost $56 which is less than Virgin charge for 3 sandwich combos.
The dimmies were overcooked and had probably been reheating for hours. Only a teenage boy would order them for brunch (what was he thinking). They were not great.
The cheese pie was good apparently. I wish I had paid attention to how much it cost.
But the star of the meal was my big breakfast. It was fresh, hot, perfectly presented, and ENORMOUS. Such excellent value for $24. Eggs, cherry tomatoes, TWO hashbrowns, bacon, mushrooms, spinach, half an avocado (sliced), and toast. It was delicious, and I will order it EVERY time from now on. I couldn't finish it, and ended up leaving one slice of toast
There was also about a dozen or more freshly made sandwich and wraps to choose from, and several salads. This place would really appeal to the health-conscious eater - it is no wonder so many locals (airport staff) eat here.
Flat white coffees were great. Not hot enough for my liking, but I was out voted.
And everything was on our table within 5 minutes. Service was truly excellent.
Overall a fantastic place. We have walked past it a hundred times, and had always wondered why it was so popular....
Read moreBeen working in and around the airport for years, seen staff members from the places I do work for rolling about with food in containers nearby. Knew there must be a cafe nearby, couple weeks ago someone offers to pick me up lunch while I'm working. I didn't have time to find the joint, it's not visible from any real general public area, and even invisible from most of the businesses on site unless someone tells you it's there.
The food is alright, a slight step above your average industrial estate fare. The coffee is unremarkable in either way to be honest, I'd happily drink it but not make my way especially for a coffee.
What I feel though is the service sets it apart. I went in this morning for an egg and bacon sandwich. I saw one in the bain marie and was happy to take it. The lady behind the counter bagged it up and asked me if I had the time to wait for a fresh one. I took the option of a fresh sandwich of course. The staff were obviously attentive enough to inspect the sandwich on display(which didn't come back to display while I was there) and offer a fresh one. Most places I see either cook to order or just throw whatever is in the bain marie at you, it is exceedingly rare to have food sitting there and be offered a freshly made one...
Read moreClean. Spacious. Nice coffee. Located next to the taxis/uber pick up area in T4. When I come in, I was greeted by a man quite polite, my guess is that he was the owner or maybe a business partner because of his behavior. Staff members were just politically correct but I really felt uncomfortable. I felt observed and I don’t appreciate when people speak to me like if I’m a bit stupid just because of my foreign accent. I had to clarify to the person that took my order, that I’m perfectly capable to understand and express myself in English. Moreover, I was eating and an arm crossed my face to pick up a breakfast menu that was in my table, not even a word of permission, to me, that was very bad manners and disrespectful. Last but not least, It really puts me off when a coffee shop is stingy with complimentary water. I mean tap water. I was thirsty and in need to have a medicine, so I asked for some water, and all I got was a small glass only half filled.
I had two slices of fruit bread (too thin) with butter and honey, and an almond flat white. I...
