I am DISGUSTED with the treatment of the staff here by the manager/boss of this establishment. Myself and my friends all attended Jimmy O' Neill's for the Dermot Kennedy pop up concert. We were all so excited for this event and could see all the staff working extra hard as it was a very busy and stressful environment for this high profile event, which the managers of Jimmy O' Neill's should be considering themselves lucky to host.
The staff went above and beyond for everyone. There was a large number of people attending this event and the staff had many people shouting their drinks order etc at them. They all dealt with it so well and did the most to get everyone out their drinks and to make sure everyone paid. We then are able to both see and hear the manager screaming at the staff to stop playing music (once Dermot Kennedy had finished) amongst many other things she was shouting about.. The way she spoke to her staff was HORRIFYING to say the least... She degraded her staff who were clearly run off their feet. She embarrassed them in front of customers, as this screaming was heard all around the pub, and she is ungrateful towards the work they were doing and the pressure they were under.
I can't praise the staff enough for the work they did for everyone tonight and the top service they provided. The boss of this establishment wouldn't have the place running to the standard it is only for the staff she is currently employing. She is lucky to have them and clearly doesn't appreciate it or respect her staff.
I have been to Jimmy O' Neill's a number of times and I have returned due to the level of service and attention provided to me and my friends. The staff are all beyond lovely and most of them are Irish, which provides a lovely feel to the place. However, after seeing how they are all actually treated tonight, I wont be returning. The manager of Jimmy O' Neill's does not deserve my business. I wish all the lovely bar staff there...

I had one of the worst experiences at this bar. I briefly stepped outside to get fresh air due to my asthma â something Iâve had to manage for years. When I tried to return, the security guard refused to let me back in. I asked why, and he said it was because he didnât see me buy a drink. I explained that I had bought a drink and that I only stepped out because I was having asthma symptoms. His response? âYeah, I canât let you in because of your asthma.â
I was shocked. I asked him directly: âSo, you're saying I canât come back in because I have asthma?â He didnât give a clear answer and refused to call a supervisor when I requested one. I had to ask another staff member to do it.
When the supervisor finally came, she gave a completely different explanation â saying the reason I wasnât allowed back in was because my asthma could get worse. Thatâs not what the original guard said. Either way, it felt dismissive and discriminatory.
My friends were still inside while I was left outside for something completely out of my control. Iâve never felt so mistreated, and I hope no one else has to go through...
Read moreI came here with a friend I haven't seen for a while and although it was nearing close, we still had a good time. Last song was Leonard Cohen's - Halelulja and being one of my all-time favourite songs I was pleasently surprrised. I soon realised the words did not match the actual lyrics which was fine because they played it weĆl. However, I decided to go and ask the lead singer if he wrote his own lyrics or perhaps it was the accent as I have always had difficulties with both Irish and Scottish accents. He asked if I was serious and I said, no offense intended, but are they your own lyrics or why does it sound so different?? He said to me " you are drunk, I don't want to talk to you" I had had 11/2 glass of red wine and I was NOT drunk. He kept on insisting he did not even want to Ă nswer my question and that I was drunk. I found his attitude and behaviour very offensive and upsetting since I have not been drunk for almost 2 years
Perhaps the assessments should be left to security, that is what they...
