Kiwi Steak & Cheese Pie — Restaurant in Melbourne

I used to come to this bakery on my way home from high school back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and it was always fairly good. Have not been for years and it has changed a bit inside ( maybe new owners not sure) I was in Dandenong for a booster shot and being Australia day I couldn’t resist as I’m not in the local area anymore and live about 30 min’s away.

I bought a beef pie , veg pastie and 2 small sausage rolls. Beautiful pastry and the meat filling had a beautiful clean flavour not salty or strange like other bakeries I’ve been to. Sausage rolls were very good as was the Pastie. Best Pie I have had in years so I will be back to...

These are some of the best pies I’ve ever had, The pastry was absolutely lovely—perfectly flaky and buttery.

I tried the mince curry pie and the onion pie, and both were incredibly delicious. The flavors were rich and satisfying, with just the right balance of seasoning. The onion pie had a slight crunch to it, which I personally loved—it added a unique texture. While my mother thought it was a bit crunchy for her liking, I found it Great and a part of the charm.

Great work guys! Pies are so delicious & pork rolls too, but a let down in the sweets dptmnt could do better in this area. Caramel slices bit bland, hedgehog pastry the slice needs work dosen't taste like home NZ style at all, eclairs ain't fresh made & apple turnovers too.
