I agree with some of the other comments here that gave it a low score due to the rudeness and lack of customer service by the older woman in the shop. This shop is my close local that I would love to go to for my Saturday morning coffees but this weekend was the last time I will go there because of her. Other staff are friendly and offer great advice on their coffee selection. All of the beans I have bought there have been great. A few weeks ago I bought a take away coffee on a Saturday morning and she made the coffee and I did not end up drinking it because it tasted like the milk was sour. This weekend I went there to buy beans and the young guy gave me excellent advice and was friendly. While he was making my take away coffee, the woman came out from the back and almost snarled at me. A nice local to grab a tea or coffee, either take away or to drink over the day's papers in the eclectic café. It's especially popular with people connected to the nearby primary school. But perhaps McIver's real reason for being is to sell McIver's branded loose leaf teas and coffee beans/grinds - good quality stuff. Not sure what's happened with this place? Coffee and food is fine, but the service has significantly declined in quality. And only serving in takeaway cups isn't really great for the environment, or their reputation. Who wants to pay $3.50 for a babycino? What a rip!
