A friend and I had decided to make this one of our go-to spots on our trip to Melbourne, but we were utterly disappointed. We arrived to the cafe early as we knew this spot had recently gotten very popular and were met with an already busy cafe. I went to the cashier and enquired about the cake decorating, and she said that there was a 30-minute wait and that they'd call me once a table became available. I asked for my name to be written down, and she said they don't do that. Upon exiting, a group of girls informed me they had just put their names down and to go back and ask for mine to be noted. I did just that, and they said 30 minutes again. The friend and I began strolling around before returning to the cafe 1.5 hours later. I walked in and enquired, to which the woman said there were people in front of us, and when I asked to see, she showed me my own name and I informed her that's me. She said we'd have to wait an additional 10 minutes. The group of girls who had informed me of the list making had arrived too and were disgruntled when they found out they were still waiting and were even further down the list as they were a table of 4. We waited outside until a table became available and sat down before paying $17 dollars for a dry and unpleasant-tasting cake. The experience was fun but the organisation of the cafe and the freshness of the cake are really a let...
Read moreBefore saying anything i will mention that this place is a great and affordable place to go for a date night or day out with friends. The cake painting was affordable and a great activity to do! Loved it!
Now for the honest part of the review, the service was okay. The reason being is that the wait time for the food, drinks and coffee was over 35 mins each.
Firstly the place was understaffed, only two workers and you could see they were rushing to get every order ready and i have nothing but great things to say about them. Its just due to the lack of staff, the wait times were crazy. I had to wait 35 mins for one coffee. 35 mins. Over 35 mins wait for the avo toast and not to mention that it was missing an ingredient. They forgot to put feta and it was on the menu. Lastly we waited 40 mins to be served an already made cake, already made buttercream due to lack of staff and there being so much work to do and a-lot of customers. This is by no means the staff fault, you could see that they were doing their best.
In all honestly this is a really nice place, i just wish in the future it is staffed properly to give customers a...

The Cake Painting activity has really taken off, but Meeya also has some tasty menu items worth visiting for.
🍝 Creamy Miso Pasta $22 🧇 Breaky Waffle $22 🍪 Biscoff Latte $9 🎨 Cake Painting $17.9 🍓 Strawberry Cake $11.5 🥥 Coconut Cake $11.5
The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, with a rich creaminess and a generous serving size. It was filled with umami flavour, accented by pops of saltiness from delicate roe. The addition of bonito and seaweed provided a harmonious balance, ensuring the creamy texture wasn’t overpowering.
While it wasn’t my top choice for a waffle dish due to its difficulty to cut through, flavor-wise, the batter had a delightful sweet cookie/biscuit flavor.
I was exceptionally impressed by the cakes, the texture was fluffy like cotton and even the cream had a fluffy foamy texture. Absolutely loved it!
The space is very small so plan ahead and be patient...
